I agree Cole. It is apparently benign as it doesn't criticise or attack women. If you didn't know his history and the context, you might not see the problem.

He still can't resist sticking his oar in though.

Bluestitch · 19/03/2019 10:51

He made sure to retweet Hayden first though so everyone knows who he is talking about.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/03/2019 11:05

What a little shit.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/03/2019 11:08

This really needs to end. This woman is harassed like crazy and the police so nothing. Maybe she just needs to say ‘they misgenederd me along with the harassment and death threats to get some action.

It's quite extraordinary how some men think that claiming they will lie to access women's spaces appears to be a defence of their ideology.

I guarantee he won't be able to help himself. He is already suggesting that women centre men. As bait for screenshots.

He needs the rage.

Victoriapestis

what is the ‘reasonable assumption’ rule? Is it in one of the EA 2010 Schedules

It was an amendment to the GRA 2004 granting this exemption specifically to the Church of England and the Church of Wales, inserted in 2005, which still stands (ie has not been affected by either the Civil Partnership Act nor the Same Sex Marriage Act).

Schedule 4 Paragraph 3 states here:

3 After section 5A insert—

“5B Marriages involving person of acquired gender

(1)A clergyman is not obliged to solemnise the marriage of a person if the clergyman reasonably believes that the person’s gender has become the acquired gender under the Gender Recognition Act 2004.

(2)A clerk in Holy Orders of the Church in Wales is not obliged to permit the marriage of a person to be solemnised in the church or chapel of which the clerk is the minister if the clerk reasonably believes that the person’s gender has become the acquired gender under that Act.”

(my emphasis)

Glad to see that almost no one is supporting Harrop's threatening tweet from this morning. twitter.com/AdrianHarrop/status/1107928543302963200?s=19

hackmum · 19/03/2019 15:48

I love some of the responses to that, e.g. "If you can't do the time, don't think the crime."

Bluestitch · 19/03/2019 15:49

Just saw that, loads of new names calling Harrop out. Somebody called Dankula (not sure who that is) posted and mocked his tweet which I think has caused so many replies, mainly free speech related.

GrinitchSpinach · 19/03/2019 16:00

Dankula is the chap who was arrested for training a dog to do a Nazi salute...Not my cup of tea, but his comment on this will bring a lot of libertarian dude attention to it.

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 19/03/2019 16:06

Haddocks now being trolled mercilessly. It's amusing.

I particularly liked the comment laughing at haddock for calling Caro a troll. Dankula fans know about trolling for sure.

Oh bloody hell. Well yes that'll certainly get the free speech proponents out in force. The free speech issue does seem to engage a lot more people than other aspects of this debate

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 19/03/2019 16:20

How can you prosecute someone for stating biological fact? They live in a strange world.

NoseringGirl · 19/03/2019 16:24

I've been blocked by Harrop despite never interacting with him, following him or tweeting anything gender critical. I follow some feminists. Nice little echo chamber he's building himself.

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 19/03/2019 16:35

I find it fascinating that it's this particular topic that's stirred haddock from his quiet time.

I think it's very odd how he seems to really hate Caro, and revel in the thought of her getting into police trouble. It was Caro
who he posted that insane golf/ church tweet about. Just before he went quiet (or was more likely forced to). That was such a shocking tweet from a professional. Why did he do it? Why?

Obviously he hates Posie for humiliating him on national tv. But there's something very strange about his obsession / hatred of Caro? Why? She seems fairly benign to me? Is this about blonde women?????

ThePurportedDoctoress · 19/03/2019 16:49

He's like a less chiselled version of Herr Flick. So much anger.

ColeHawlins · 19/03/2019 16:56

a less chiselled version of Herr Flick

😁😄😂

2rebecca · 19/03/2019 17:01

Wow the right wing US free speech mob v Harrop looks like an interesting fight. Looks like he's met his match there. Wanting women arrested and prosecuted for "upsetting" tweets is not a way to gain sympathy for your cause. Think I'd stay in NZ after rattling their cage.

2rebecca · 19/03/2019 17:07

Yeah, it was Count Dankula's tweet wot done it. he has 191,000 twitter followers

I was talking to an American couple who used to live be near JonBenét Ramsey today. They said how awful it was that the place became a tourist attraction with ghouls doing tours of the street and photographing the house. I wonder how it is that Hardup has a picture of the gravestone of the poor little girl on his Instagram. Shame you can't be prosecuted for that crime against humanity.

hipsterfun · 19/03/2019 17:33

He's like a less chiselled version of Herr Flick. So much anger.

I always had him as a spiteful Brains from Thunderbirds, but yours is better, Doctoress Grin

Alltheprettyseahorses · 19/03/2019 18:42

Adrian has made me feel sad on the internet when I've seen him relentlessly targeting women :( Does that mean he's committed an offence? Helpful of him to highlight it.

ScipioAfricanus · 19/03/2019 19:02

I think his bludgeoning of the English language is almost as bad as his hatred towards women. Hey, Adrian, ‘ongoing’ means the same as ‘not yet concluded’ (I’m blocked now so I can’t check his exact wording but it was, as always, needlessly tautological).

theOtherPamAyres · 21/03/2019 11:31

Today a doctor and a lawyer will be playing a round of golf at a prestigious course.

AH is about to witness why it's unfair to men who play transwomen in a sport.

Both have XY chromosomes. One of them will have to tee off from the men's tee and one will tee off from the women's tee. One of them has got an unfair advantage because they are playing from the forward tee box.

It's not just women's sports that are affected by self i/d, Mr Harrop.

I wonder if

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/03/2019 11:35

He looks like he may have a weedy swing anyway.
