Do you have gender dysphoria?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 08/02/2019 19:55

"Gender dysphoria, or gender identity disorder, is a diagnosis used to describe individuals who exhibit a strong desire to be of the other gender. Take this gender dysphoria test to determine if you have gender dysphoria symptoms that could lead to a diagnosis."

Well I took the test, answered all the (very obvious) questions to indicate that I do not have gender dysphoria and was told

Your answers suggest a mild to moderate indication that you are experiencing symptoms common among people with gender dysphoria Shock

Test is here: www.psycom.net/adult-gender-dysphoria-test/ You don't have the give them your email address to submit results.

ShockShock me too! And I answered all questions indicating I'm totally happy with my sex/gender!

Rogueaccountant · 08/02/2019 20:03

I have day of the week dysphoria on Mondays.

AngelaStorm73 · 08/02/2019 20:03

Oh FFS

Angry

From a woman in a woman's body who is happy with being a woman in her all her wantonly womanliness whatever the stupid quiz says

HawkeyeInConfusion · 08/02/2019 20:09

Apparently I have a strong indication Hmm

Yambabe · 08/02/2019 20:10

Yep. I have a strong likelihood of GD apparently. Because although I am happy with my sex and sexual characteristics and experiencing no distress I'd prefer to be treated like a man (give me better pay and listen to me please, world!) and my interests are more aligned with mens. Idiots.

ScipioAfricanus · 08/02/2019 20:16

Mild to moderate for me even though the only thing I said was that I’d like to be treated like a man (not wolf whistled or ignored essentially). Everything else I answered as happy with ‘gender’ - I’m quite stereotypically female in my interests and behaviour and although I have always been uncomfortable with my body I don’t want to have a male one.

What a load of old nonsense.

whathaveiforgottentoday · 08/02/2019 20:17

Oh my gosh, I got strong indication as I like tobe treated no differently to the opposite sex and sometimes think and act like the opposite sex (I have a few traits that are more stereotypically male like being untidy and not putting socks in the washing pile / liking sci fi etc - I only think this as on girly nights out when the other mums complain about their husband's bad habits, they seem to apply more to me than to my husband).
I must book my appointment asap !!!

Or, alternatively perhaps contact the website to tell them what a pile of poo that questionnaire is.

NoseringGirl · 08/02/2019 20:18

I have a strong indication of gender dysphoria apparently Hmm
I'm not a fan of online mental health quizzes in general but this one was particularly daft.

Notevenmyrealname · 08/02/2019 20:19

Me too. Mild to moderate. And the only one I answered yes to was wishing that people treated me differently. But not because I have dysphoria, because I’m a woman and I’m paid less, treated like a sex object (when I was in my 20s) or like I’m invisible (now I’m a mum).
Also this:
Do you often feel that your feelings and reactions are more in line with how someone of the opposite gender would feel or act?

How would I know how anyone, male or female, would feel or react to a situation? It’s based on nothing other than someone’s imagination.

TowelNumber42 · 08/02/2019 20:23

Apparently I am strong likelihood of GD. I also answered truthfully that I am happy with my body and gender but do wish people would treat me equally to men. FFS.

If I'd done that quiz at 14 I would have answered that I was not happy with my body. I remember being confused and angry that over a few months my male friends had become stronger than me, faster than me and kept staring at my boobies. I hated periods. I hadn't worked out how to manage them properly yet. I was definitely jealous of boys' bodies.

This stuff is dangerous to girls. Especially tomboys.

Italiangreyhound · 08/02/2019 20:26

I answered no to eceey single question. And I got "Mild to Moderate Indication of Gender Dysphoria"

Italiangreyhound · 08/02/2019 20:27

I didn't say I wanted to be treated equally to men! I want us all to be treated better!

ShesABelter · 08/02/2019 20:27

I put im happy with everything about being a woman and also that I didn't want to be treated like a man and still got mild to moderate, what a load of shite.

Do you have gender dysphoria?
ShesABelter · 08/02/2019 20:31

Sorry the reason for the pic. It says do you wish people in your life would treat you the same way as the treat THE males. So for that spelling mistake combined with the results, I'm going to assume the tests made by an idiot.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 08/02/2019 20:32

Apparently I display strong indicators of gender dysphoria. But it also says I'm likely to have dementia, so I might have forgotten to put the right answers.

TerfectlyImperfect · 08/02/2019 20:32

Same here Italian. Absolute bullshit.

tobee · 08/02/2019 20:34

I did it honestly. Mild to moderate.

Then messed around with it a few times, lying about my responses essentially.

Couldn't make it come up as not having gender dysphoria.

Who the hell are Psycom?

Drogosnextwife · 08/02/2019 20:36

I got mild to moderate! 😂
In all seriousness though, that's a disgrace!

PositivelyPERF · 08/02/2019 20:39

Your answers suggest a Strong indication that you are experiencing symptoms common among people diagnosed with gender dysphoria. However, this quiz is no substitute for a proper diagnosis from a health care professional and we would encourage you to schedule an appointment with your doctor or other mental health professional now.

But I love being a women and love my breasts and vagina. I just want to be treated with the same respect as men! Absolute crock of shit!

sackrifice · 08/02/2019 20:42

What a load of old bollocks.

Bowlofbabelfish · 08/02/2019 20:48

‘Do you consider the narrow societal expectations of your sex to be restrictive and at odds with your personality?’

Wonder how many would answer yes to that?

PositivelyPERF · 08/02/2019 20:52

What a load of old bollocks.

I definitely don’t want a pair of those! 😁

AornisHades · 08/02/2019 20:53

I've got a strong indication too. Hmm

littlbrowndog · 08/02/2019 21:02

I got a strong as well. But I am very happy in myself

Thingybob · 08/02/2019 21:11

What a load of old bollocks.

Well yes because everyone gets at least a mild-moderate. (Therapists need customers)

But no if you get a 'moderate or strong' indication as the questions are based on the DSM V diagnostic criteria for Gender Dysphoria so it shows how many of us could potentially be diagnosed.

www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/gender-dysphoria/what-is-gender-dysphoria.

In the UK psychiatrists and psychologists tend to use ICD 10 but the criteria for GIDs is equally as vague in there.
