The stress of starting your working life out in huge debt, the repayments and putting off the rest of the important things you need to be paying for like a decent home or having kids or making your pensions contributions. Tuition fees also have changed the student- university relationship into a client-provider relationship that seems to mean a race to the bottom in lots of ways.

Just to clarify, hellandhairnets, I do not oppose same-sex marriage and I know that it is important to many same-sex couples.

Same sex marriage is undoubtedly a good thing because it is a recognition that same sex relationships have equal status. However, legally there is very little difference between civil partnerships and marriage. The big social changes happened under the Blair Labour government with the Civil Partnerships Act and the end of Section 28.

All 3 labour seats are safely labour, Coventry City Council is overwhelmingly labour and there are no Lib Dem councillors.

In 2016 the LDs did significantly worse than UKIP.

I suspect there may not be that many Coventry Lib Dems and would bet that nobody else wanted to be diversity officer.

I live in a very safe Tory seat and have always been under the impression that the other parties only spring into existence to show willing at election time. I imagine they struggle to have quorate meetings.

I've had a quick read of the Renew Party policy document, didn't spot any direct reference to identity politics and can see a lot of good ideas in there, immediately spotted some that have already been introduced in Scotland. Probably not left wing enough for some but I liked the profiles of their candidates in my area.
I don't know what their stance on self ID is but they seem keen on evidence based ideas which could be hopeful?

Didn't AC say on the Radio 5 Live interview a couple of weeks ago that AC would not seek an official role in the Liberal Democrats for at least two years? In order to "heal".

I don’t think I saw any actual environmental campaigning from Challenor when they were a Green. Like Lily Madigan, they are in a post / party with a specific agenda (Green/women’s Officer) but they use that position to push their own agenda.

What Challenor did in the greens was push a highly pro trans - anti opposition agenda (for example trying to bring in a rule that anyone comitting serious offences would not automatically be ejected from the party.)

Challenor now, to any reputable organisation, is a liability. For them to jump ship shows how they had no green agenda at all.

Perhaps we can add Coventry to Leeds in our list of ‘places where something is amiss.’
