''Pornography depicting a number of previously banned sex acts has been made legal in the UK after a review of obscenity laws.

Essentially, sex acts that are not illegal in another context can now be shown in pornography.''

''Certain types of violent porn are now permitted so long as the sex acts are consensual (focusing on ‘full and freely exercised consent’,) do not cause serious harm to participants, are not ‘inextricably linked with other criminality’ and are not likely to be viewed by anyone under the age of 18.''

Also they have removed the ban on 'torture with instruments', so expect to see more porn involving women being anally raped with baseball bats, speculums, etc.

It's great isn't it!

QuietContraryMary · 31/01/2019 21:45

"i just find it weird that what I do with my DH in my own house bothers people and they feel it affects them in some way? It’s really weird to me as what i do in my spare time has absolutely no impact on you yet you want to control it. Odd."

Are you lost? This is is about pornography. It's not about what you do with your DH in your own house.

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 21:45

Literally couldn’t give a shot what you do in your own home.
No one does.

And you would never get convicted because who would report you?

The law is there to protect women from being forced to do the acts.

Anlaf · 31/01/2019 21:48

QCM that is v helpful context. Interesting as the 'squirting' point is the one most oft on twitter ("hey girls we can SQUIRT again") and it seems not actually prosecutable under old guidelines.

But we couldn’t give a shit what you do in your own home.
You were the one who brought it up in a thread about something else.

Pornography rules would only apply to you if you were showing people pictures of it.
And unless you were selling it they would only go to the police if it was something they didn’t want to see. And you really shouldn’t be showing people sexual images of yourself unless you know for a fact they want to see it and are ok with the act going on in the pictures.

This law change affects what you do in your home not one iota.

QuietContraryMary · 31/01/2019 21:55

It's not really a law change, it's to do with what the CPS would or wouldn't prosecute for.

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 21:55

You know the police don’t actually raid homes to find your grainy Polaroid’s if you and you partner getting a bit kinky.

Acknowledged

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 21:58

So it’s ok if you’re breaking the law as long as you don’t get caught? Great message.

Hmm That’s not my message.

The fact is you’re getting you’re crotchless knickers in a twist about something that really doesn’t affect you having some sexy time with your partner.

So you think the acts should be legal?

And when a man anally tortures a woman during sex and she goes to the police and they turn around and say they can’t do anything because he says it was consensual, that would be a better outcome than you breaking the law?

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 22:07

Or when a man strangles a woman to death he can just say it was a sex act gone wrong and she just liked it rough?

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 22:08

Because that’s why the acts are illegal, not because anyone cares what goes on in your bedroom.

If you hate breaking he law do much, stop doing the acts.

7Days · 31/01/2019 22:11

You must be so relieved FixedIdeal.

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 22:15

Who is saying that non-consensualal acts of the type you describe are now legal?

They aren’t but it’s pretty difficult to prove consent after the fact.

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 22:16

The legislation was about distribution of depictions of acts.

Yes so why did you start banging on about what’s going on in your bedroom.

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 22:16

I don’t think you have any knowledge or experience of the fetish community?

Unfortunately I actually do

Calvinsmam · 31/01/2019 22:18

But thanks for that mighty derail of what could have been a very interesting conversation

justasking111 · 31/01/2019 22:22

You can just see inch by inch how certain groups of individuals are trying to change society, whether by changing laws, infiltrating schools, hiding behind charities.

Room101isWhereIUsedtoLive · 31/01/2019 22:28

I have wide experience with the 'fetish' community and I really don't think that normalizing behaviour such as strangling during sex should be something that is easy to view. It just gives perverted men ideas.
If a person and their partner want to carry on with that kind of thing behins closed doors, then fair enough.
If porn is produced that normalises extreme acts such as strangling, then my daughter when she is older is likely to end up in a situation where she is pressured to undertake such acts.
My personal experience has led me to the view that people with fetishes see themselves as other/better compared to the 'vanillas'.
I enjoy being dominated, it makes for great sex with the right partner.
Should I be lauded for this enjoyment?
Hell no.
