Woman submits human rights complaint about encountering Oger in women's bathroom

This is the BC Human Rights Tribunal, currently forum for a certain ball-waxing trans-gender child tampon fetishist to pursue a grievance.

dailyhive.com/vancouver/bc-woman-human-rights-complaint-trans-bathroom

Also currently the forum of M. Oger, formerly R. Oger, a big-time TRA & Canadian politician who has been complaining that a bloke hurt h* feelings by misgendering h*, and this constitutes a serious human rights breach by that bloke. (see here: www.freenorthamerica.ca/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=10624 for what he said)

Anyway, Kari Simpson has said she heard M. Oger in the ladies' bathroom at the Human Rights Tribunal:

"she heard a loud male voice” talking to other people in the washroom, and recognized the voice to be that of Morgane Oger

The incident “was disturbing and distressing,” the complaint reads. “Her security of a person was violated, she remained in the stall until she was certain that the biological man, Oger, had gone for fear of being bullied.”

Simpson said in a release that “this assault on women’s rights must end. Men wearing puppy dog ears/tails, pony gear, wigs and/or lipstick, chemically and cosmetically altering their appearance and self-declaring themselves to be a dog, a pony or a woman does not change their biological reality of being a human male.”

“Men suffering from delusion, gender dysphoria, fantasy, nefarious intention, or simply addicted to a hyper-sexualized kinky game of female dress-up, among other factors, do not get to trample on my rights… to security of the person, privacy, dignity, decency, and services directly affected by my protected rights as a female,” she added. “It’s time to end this dangerous game of lunacy.”

In the complaint, Simpson said she would like to see, among other things, an apology from the BCHRT to “all members” of Culture Guard, all washroom/change room signage inviting use by Trans people or similar wording to be removed and replaced with Women Only or Men Only wording, an amendment to the BC Human Rights Code to define Gender identity and gender Expression as “cosmetic, costume, or outward projection of a person,” and a combined total of $180,000 in damages.

“A free and civil society respects any individual’s right to free expression, but those rights end where another’s begin,” said Simpson. “It’s time to stop lying to people—especially children.”

Exactly, AAK.

R0wantrees · 31/01/2019 11:42

Married and/or widowed biologically heterosexual Christian females, that gender identify and express as women, and have given life to both biologically provable male and female human beings/children, who also share membership in an organization called Culture Guard

What the fuck is that all about?

Its an additional part of the complaint & refers to compelled language:
from OP:

*This group's complaint, prior to the adoptive lunacy of Trans sex activism language by the Respondents and the legally unnecessary amendments of the BC Human Rights code to include "Gender Identity" and "Gender Expression" would have simply read: Married and/or widowed Christian women, who are moms and/or grandmothers to both boys and girls, that belong to an organization called Culture Guard and attended a hearing at the BCHRT in Vancouver and were forced to share a "women's" bathroom with men due to the signage and policy of the Respondents that violate the rights of the group."

AnyOldPrion · 31/01/2019 11:55

AAK, that’s a brilliant way to look at this.

Mumsnet is an amazing place - so many realisations click into place from these discussions. You can’t turn them back one you’ve seen them.

QuietContraryMary · 31/01/2019 11:57

To be more specific, the purpose of referring to Christian, married, etc., is that the legislation defines various protected categories. Hence if white heterosexual males can identify as a protected category (transwoman), white heterosexual females should be able to as well.

Good on this woman. Oger has had some "interesting" online clashes with a Canadian transsexual, Jenn Smith. Jenn is fighting hard against the teaching occurring in the schools over there, SOGI123 (iirc).

welshgendercrit · 31/01/2019 12:15

Not sure I agree with that hugely oversimplified Venn diagram. It's perfectly possible to be religious and a feminist. Otherwise how did I end up here? We object to being broadbrushed as feminists, so perhaps we should also be careful not to broadbrush all religious people as hard-right conservatives. There is a strong strand of Christian socialism in the UK at least.

andyoldlabour · 31/01/2019 12:31

"Jaesse, in WW2 we had to ally ourselves with Stalin in order to defeat the Nazis."

Not the best of examples IMHO.
In 1939, Germany and Russia signed the Molatov Ribbentrop Pact, which was a neutrality pact between the two countries. Prior to this, Russia had been allowing Germany to build up its Luftwaffe and train its pilots at Russian airfields.
The only reason the Russians became involved in WW2, was because Hitler grossly overestimated his own capabilities by invading Russia in June 1941 - Operation Barbarossa.

GrinitchSpinach · 31/01/2019 12:59

When right wingers and radical feminists agree on something it's generally an indication that the thing they're agreeing on is at a "water is wet" level of obviousness, rather than of a conspiracy worthy of tightening your tinfoil hat over.

Could someone tech-savvier than I create a bot to autopost this reply on every iteration of "I hear there is division within your ranks! Tell me more..."?

GCSocScientist · 31/01/2019 13:10

Indeed welshgendercrit, in the RC church there is a strong tradition of liberation theology, which aligned itself and fought alongside socialist movements globally. Rome doesn’t agree with it, so many are unaware of its existence. All women are active in the fight for equality and our sex based rights.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 31/01/2019 13:39

Well done this woman. This will be a very interesting and important case.

FleetsumNJetsum · 31/01/2019 13:55

including the words “Trans People Welcome” on the sign identifying the washroom as being for “Women”

If they really wanted to be welcoming without abusing the rights of others the signs would have read:

WOMEN
TRANSMEN WELCOME

MEN
TRANSWOMEN WELCOME

but hey ho

welshgendercrit · 31/01/2019 14:04

GCSocScientist I couldn't agree more. I read some liberation theology as part of my training and was very impressed. I have a suspicion Pope Francis is far more sympathetic towards it than his predecessors.

R0wantrees · 31/01/2019 16:59

I think the Venn Diagram is to illustrate core ideas with regards sex / gender from the three perspectives.

(its intended to be simplistic)

welshgendercrit · 31/01/2019 19:03

I realise that RO but the correlation of religion and conservatism worries me. It may hold true in the USA, but not always elsewhere.

misscockerspaniel · 31/01/2019 19:34

When right-wingers and radical feminists agree on something ...

Listen, when a self-confessed hairy man of a docker starts posting on the feminist board of MN, in support of us - that is the point at which we will know that we are at the "water is wet" level of obviousness.

Poppyred85 · 31/01/2019 19:52

Brava that woman. I’m left of centre politically speaking, a liberal somewhat lapsed Christian and gender critical feminist. I suspect there are a number of things I disagree on with Culture Guard both politically and theologically but that’s fine. On this one issue, we agree and she’s prepared to put herself quite literally in the line of attack for that belief. For that alone, she deserves support.

The vile Oger being goady (see the Tweet and the link)

MoreCheeseDear · 31/01/2019 20:13

Wow!

frazzled1 · 31/01/2019 20:22

(Don't know how to screenshot). Morgane Oger's tweet of Jan 29:

On statements on the matter, Meghan Murphy has stated that women are adult human females and that transgender women are not female and are not women. That is an act of inciting hatred on the basis that transgender women are imposters trying to sneak into protected spaces.

Transgender women are transgender women Morgane. Not women, not female. Women are adult human females.

Stating the truth may be unpalatable to you but is not an act of inciting hatred.

"I agree with Kari Simpson"
by Morgane Oger Uncategorized, Opinion, discrimination, Hatred January 30, 2019

"I agree, Kari Simpson needs reasonable access to single-occupancy washrooms if she is unable to share the women’s restrooms with women.

Despite her debilitating “condition”, Ms. Simpson still needs to pee.

Unfortunately, our nation’s building codes could have done a better job accommodating Ms. Simpson’s needs by mandating single-stall universal washroom spaces in all buildings. Given her unique organizing acumen, I encourage Kari Simpson to advocate vigorously for universal single-stall washrooms to help meets the needs of all Canadians who like her are unable to use single-gender multi-stall washroom spaces.

Poor Ms. Simpson deserves our sympathy and support on this one (and only) issue as she navigates a society no longer designed exactly as she wishes it was. We can’t all adapt to the 21st century."

AnotherBewilderedQuoll · 31/01/2019 21:21

I thoroughly agree with Bowl and AAK (as pretty much always).
Me: Feminist, lesbian, vegetarian, socialist, atheist.
Kari Simpson: Right-wing, steak-eating Christian woman who, no doubt opposes same-sex marriage and a woman's right to terminate pregnancy.

Also Kari: Has as much right as myself to privacy and safety from males in female toilets.

sackrifice · 01/02/2019 09:49

Actually...

Woman submits human rights complaint about encountering Oger in women's bathroom
AngryAttackKittens · 01/02/2019 10:18

Figures that the only time Oger was honest it would be by accident.

SuffragettesStruggledForThis · 01/02/2019 11:51

"The only reason the Russians became involved in WW2, was because Hitler grossly overestimated his own capabilities by invading Russia in June 1941 - Operation Barbarossa"

Not quite. That's the reason the Russians joined the Allied side. The USSR had become involved with the war back in 17 September 1939, when in accordance with the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact, it invaded Poland.

MrGHardy · 02/02/2019 01:37

Fucking A. That Oger is abhorrent.
