ToeToToe · 26/01/2019 20:08

Fabulous Grin Wine

theOtherPamAyres · 26/01/2019 20:14

That is so heartening to see and how wonderful that they got so many waves, cheers and beeps of the horn.

Where is that? I can't place that footbridge. Good job!

Swiftonsecurity · 27/01/2019 03:28

Saw this in person, a lot of people beeping and walking past didn't know what it was about and when a few trans people told them, they were disgusted. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few police visits after this now.

RedemptiveCrocodile · 27/01/2019 07:53

Cool story, swift.

Omg this makes me want to move back to bristol! 😍

FruitCider · 27/01/2019 07:55

That's the bridge at the bottom of the m32 that runs between Houltpn street and St. Paul's gym.

ChattyLion · 27/01/2019 07:56

Great to see ithis happening in Bristol after the shameful and authoritarian intimidatory behaviour of masked TRAs, gathering against women last year who were meeting in Bristol just to talk together about this issue. Flowers

April 2018. Links to video taken at meeting event in Bristol. Speakers Julie Bindel and heather Brunskell-Evans were blocked in by transactivists of both sexes wearing hoods and masks above and below them on a staircase. Pickets with masked picketers outside venue. Don’t remember mainstream news covering this at all and the police who were outside did nothing either.

From memory, this was during a time of government consultation on changing the law on this exact issue.

brizzledrizzle · 27/01/2019 08:09

swift and they all lived happily ever after. The end.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 27/01/2019 08:35

Since what those people would have been told would have been as wildly overdramatised and batshit persecution fantasy based as police intimidating women for defending their existing rights under law, I have no doubt your right.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 27/01/2019 08:37

Sort why were people disgusted? Pro women and girls. Banner not big enough?

WarmthAndDepth · 27/01/2019 08:37

Thanks, Fruit.
Chatty , I bumped into the manager of the venue a while ago and thanked him for agreeing to host the event. He said that the threats and intimidation he'd had to deal with as a result were unbelievable.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 27/01/2019 08:40

The threats, the lies, the victim card, the ‘call me ma’am’ videos, the constant shouting down, the wild claims of authenticity, the batshittery science, the convicted doctors, the back-transing of Curt Cobain... it’s not doing the cause any good is it?

ChattyLion · 27/01/2019 08:49

Warmth sorry to hear that. Both him and the Jam jar staff are fucking brilliant to have hold firm. More balls than Millwall. Literally. I hope they get lots of additional business. Flowers

Yabbers · 27/01/2019 09:21

it says nothing about trans people Swiftonsecurity. those banners are all about women

Sure 🙄

You either believe that, or are gaslighting others that what they see isn't what they see. I'm not sure which is the better option.

This bloody board is becoming ridiculous.

ToeToToe · 27/01/2019 09:23

The Jam Jar was incredibly brave.

Seeing the full extent of the masked protestor's aggression on the Stella O'Malley C4 programme was shocking. They really are misguided aren't they? At least one of those protestors has back-tracked slightly since (Esther Betts).

I don't believe for a minute that swift could know the thoughts of the occupants of the beeping cars. Nice try though Grin

SingeBuggerCack · 27/01/2019 09:24

Filing under that never happened. Unless cars were being flagged down so that the aforementioned trans people could conduct pop surveys? Otherwise how could anyone possibly know the opinions of those car loads of people ('lots' of them? Aye, right).

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 27/01/2019 09:25

where does it say anything about trans people on those banners Yabbers?

those banners are Pro-Women

if that upsets some trans people, then surely that means those trans people are anti-women no?

maybe those trans people need to think about why they hate women so much

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 27/01/2019 09:27

and this

I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few police visits after this now

women! know your place! no freely expressing your views! otherwise the police will need to come and tell you off

please stop with the thinly veiled threats. it's really bloody annoying

ToeToToe · 27/01/2019 09:31

I'm very sorry that transwomen were not born female, but you know, that's not women's fault. It's biology.

Women are allowed to stand up for their rights, their privacy, their safety, women are allowed to categorise themselves "women" - adult human females. That's what this board is all about.
