Courting the far right is wrong....

OneTimeThing · 26/01/2019 08:12

...if you follow that with a ‘but’ to justify Posie Parker’s courting of the far right, then you are a fascist.

I said I would only post one thing on this board. I kept that promise.

But this is the pits right here. Posie Parker is seeking funding and making deals with white supremacist, crypto fascists, misogynists, homophobes and racists. How does this not show you what your movement is and has always been?

You need to look at yourselves. If your response is anything other than total rejection of posie Parker and all the groups she is involving herself with, then you are just as bad. If you think that trans people/‘trans activists’ are worse than Tommy Robinson, ultra trump supporters and others who spew far right views then you are a racist, sexist, homophobic nightmare. Those labels equally describe what a person is as well as what a person does.

“But what about TRA’s?” Some of you will want to scream at me.

You don’t see Paris Lees going off to get funding from literal fascists. Hell, Caitlin Jenner votes for trump and the global trans community has never and will never forgive her. And either way, none of what “they” do will magically make it okay to go suck up to people that think gay people should be sterilised or that Muslim’s are evil.

Transphobia is revolting. It’s wrong, and it comes as no surprise to hear that transphobia (which most of you peddle right here) will eventually push people towards other kinds of hate.

Take a long hard look at yourselves. I’m a transgender woman, a mum, and I hope at least some of you are seriously thinking about what kind of person you want to be.

Anyone remember camp coffee?
My granddad used to drink that stuff, horrible sweet fake syrupy stuff.

Horsewithnomane · 26/01/2019 10:21

Pa wouldn't touch yeast extract, but Ma might..

...I'll get my coat.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 26/01/2019 10:21

Soda streams are good but it's harder to find the cylinders than it was. Argos have them.

I got fed up waiting to make it to an argos and got some water kefir grains which make fizzy drinks but that is a try-hard faff.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:22

My main memory of soda streams is adding more of the syrup than you were meant to and my mum making faces and asking how I could stand to drink it that way.

AnyFucker · 26/01/2019 10:23

"Camp" coffee ?

Uh-oh. Steady on. Your bigotry is showing Grin

Yes, I remember it. Made out of chicory or summat horrid.

CoffeeMate has swish and trendy new packaging. Watch this space...I predict it will be the coffee phenomenon overtaking Starbucks and the like. We should open a chain of Feminist CoffeeMate cafes serving Russian teacakes with marmite on, Hot Cross Buns all year round (controversial) and perfectly boiled eggs. We'd make enough money to overthrow the patriarchy.

lisamuggeridge · 26/01/2019 10:25

I wanted the egg but ate the ice cream.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:25

Why can't we have hot cross buns all year? Not being able to get one in December if I feel like it is oppression.

Howyoualldoworkme · 26/01/2019 10:26

AngryAttackKittens Sorry, I was reminiscing about Cremola Foam..
I'm sure you could. Maybe use sultanas or dried apricots.

I'm on surer ground writing about food than feminism but I do appreciate and learn from all the eloquence on here Flowers

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:27

Talking about food seems to enrage TRAs so I'm sure we'll all be reported to the Stasi soon enough.

noraclavicle · 26/01/2019 10:27

I nearly bought some Coffee Mate the other day, but their modernising of it has included adding palm oil in, so I sadly had to put it back.

But boiled egg & marmite soldiers I am totally on board with...

WellThisIsShit · 26/01/2019 10:27

Weirdly someone in rl was talking about CoffeeMate yesterday, I had no idea it was resurging. This is A Sign. I’m unsure about the whole thing...

jellyfrizz · 26/01/2019 10:28

Errrm....

exLtEveDallas · 26/01/2019 10:28

Anyone remember camp coffee

Milkshake made with Camp Coffee was my Sunday night treat watching the Muppets.

(I was a strange child)

Anewoneforme · 26/01/2019 10:28

I think people like the OP like to believe that posters on FWR are all members of a movement who have core beliefs and leaders and all think the the same things re trans issues.
While that may indeed be true for a very small minority, most of us are here just because we are worried about single sex spaces being eroded. Worried for the safety of our daughters in schools and girl guides etc. And women and girls are 51% of the population and we KNOW what lengths abusive males will go to.
Other than that beliefs and opinions differ.
And here is the main difference between posters here on FWR and trans activists - WE DONT ALL HAVE TO BELIEVE THE SAME THING AND EVERYONE IS FUNE WITH THAT. shock horror Hmm
There may be robust debate.
There may even be biscuits.
We do like nice peer reviewed and robust evidence however.

Everyone is welcome to post Smile

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:28

Doesn't it basically taste of chemicals and sadness?

WeRiseUp · 26/01/2019 10:28

How dare you appropriate motherhood and call yourself "a mum" OP? That is extremely offensive - particularly since you singled out a site called Mumsnet to do it. Angry

Where's you episiotomy scars?

Where's the increased proteins in your blood?

Where's your stretch marks?

Where's your pregnancy discrimination?

Sort out your own shit first - I'll take no fucking lectures from you.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 26/01/2019 10:29

We had soft boiled eggs for breakfast, with toast soldiers, as is right and proper.

Now I feel like Russian cheesecake. pin.it/p7dxft4pbnpzoc

On topic, right wing women are actually allowed to have opinions and express them. They are certainly allowed to attend meetings and discuss things with left wing women, how else are they going to hear? Or do you propose we just write off and exile anyone with wrong think? Where should they go, monster island?

I really despair at this extreme tribalism that just refuses to even try and discuss and see from another perspective. We are all human, complicated and learning, none of us have all the answers, at the end of the day we are stronger together.

Deliriumoftheendless · 26/01/2019 10:31

Can we rename Coffee Mate Coffee Matriach for the coffee shop?

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:31

I think we're supposed to tell right wing women they can't sit at our table like some kind of political version of Heathers.

WrathofRancidKlopp · 26/01/2019 10:31

Hahaha
You lot Grin
I am clearly far too slow.

LangCleg · 26/01/2019 10:31

If CoffeeMate is making a comeback, I'm in! I used to love that stuff.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:32

CoffeeComrade, surely, if we're exiling any woman who's further to the right than we are.

Don't let them copy your homework!

Howyoualldoworkme · 26/01/2019 10:33

My late MiL used to put Tip Top in her coffee. It tasted delicious.
Camp Coffee is mainly chicory, very popular in wartime and good for favouring icing etc.

Well I used to give talks on food so TRAs would really hate me then Grin
