Courting the far right is wrong....

OneTimeThing · 26/01/2019 08:12

...if you follow that with a ‘but’ to justify Posie Parker’s courting of the far right, then you are a fascist.

I said I would only post one thing on this board. I kept that promise.

But this is the pits right here. Posie Parker is seeking funding and making deals with white supremacist, crypto fascists, misogynists, homophobes and racists. How does this not show you what your movement is and has always been?

You need to look at yourselves. If your response is anything other than total rejection of posie Parker and all the groups she is involving herself with, then you are just as bad. If you think that trans people/‘trans activists’ are worse than Tommy Robinson, ultra trump supporters and others who spew far right views then you are a racist, sexist, homophobic nightmare. Those labels equally describe what a person is as well as what a person does.

“But what about TRA’s?” Some of you will want to scream at me.

You don’t see Paris Lees going off to get funding from literal fascists. Hell, Caitlin Jenner votes for trump and the global trans community has never and will never forgive her. And either way, none of what “they” do will magically make it okay to go suck up to people that think gay people should be sterilised or that Muslim’s are evil.

Transphobia is revolting. It’s wrong, and it comes as no surprise to hear that transphobia (which most of you peddle right here) will eventually push people towards other kinds of hate.

Take a long hard look at yourselves. I’m a transgender woman, a mum, and I hope at least some of you are seriously thinking about what kind of person you want to be.

Allow me summarise the OPs fact free post:

Women of Mumsnet! You are all fascists for resisting the TRA party line! You and your daughters have no legitimate rights to bodily autonomy. Would you ever think about the men in dresses children.

lisamuggeridge · 26/01/2019 09:24

You find equivalence between the disturbing levels of abusive male pattern behaviour among noted TRAS, predatory behaviour, intimidation, and disturbing abuse and stalking of women, with women having a broad range of political views? THat is mad as owt. Really.

WellThisIsShit · 26/01/2019 09:28

Yawning here. Why do I keep seeing threads that argue in the same old tired ways? It gets very noisy and very ‘samey’.

The faux outrage and the tantrumimg and the ‘now finally you’ll have to admit because of X random miscellaneous assertion that doesn’t quite follow through’.

But no, I don’t finally have to admit anything because people can jump up and down all they want, and try and muddy the waters and play all sorts of dirty tricks.

I’m not against trans people in any way shape or form. I’m against people who ride the wave of trans ‘activism’ to peddle their own unsavory ends, such as taking away women’s rights and committing crimes against women and children. That’s it. Seriously, it’s not actually complicated.,

CarolinePooter · 26/01/2019 09:31

And also, as well as having a broad range of political views, we are allowed to tolerate and even be kind to people who do not share those views. Plenty of people I love voted Brexit, but I still love them!

feministfairy · 26/01/2019 09:34

Thankfully someone's mentioned breakfast! Croissants I believe.

And yes CaptainKirksSpookyghost I noticed your "fidget people" Grin

Off to make toast with marmite. Have a great day sisters.

BertrandRussell · 26/01/2019 09:37

“Plenty of people I love voted Brexit, but I still love them!”

Blimey-not sure i’d go that far! I love one of the trans people I know and like the others - but Brexiteers??

LangCleg · 26/01/2019 09:39

And yes CaptainKirksSpookyghost I noticed your "fidget people"

So did I!

Croissants? Toast and marmite? Pfft. It's been at least a month since I mentioned....

... the Weetabix Banana Horror!

(Wotcha, terryleather. Please don't punish me.)

Alltheprettyseahorses · 26/01/2019 09:40

I don't agree with Posie Parker politically but she is rightly free to make her own choices and is entitled to speak to right-wing groups. not everyone is left-wing. Unless you live in (in)glorious isolation, you have to deal with people who think differently from you every hour of every day. Fair's fair - would you like to list everyone with whom you associate so we can scrutinise them in turn for any wrongthink?

What result do you want from your OP? Do you want us to police her behaviour or something? Or would you like us to fight among ourselves instead to weaken our movement? That won't work. There's a saying: the right treats women as private property, the left treats us as public property. It is unacceptable to try to whip up a crowd to force a woman to behave the way YOU want her too.

The truth is that there's as much misogyny, homophobia and racism in the extremes of transactivism as there is in the extremes of the right, or the left come to think of it. Anyway, the real problem here is not who PP is speaking to: it's the fact that she's succeeding.

CoastalLife · 26/01/2019 09:41

Oh dear. Several requests for evidence or links to back up your claims about Posie Parker have gone completely unanswered.

If you cannot understand why a forum full of women would be largely opposed to a movement that seeks to systematically attack the rights of women and girls in pursuit of their fairytale then it's you who needs to think about your position. I don't care what you wear. I don't care what you look like or what you do with your spare time. I care about women having to share safe spaces with people who have penises, I care that crime statistics are going to be skewed and I care that, yet again, all of our voices are drowned out by men. You may believe that you want to be a woman, but you obviously want to retain the bit of "maleness" that means your opinion and your rights are more important than everyone else's.

I wondered whether you would bite LangCleg
I will not be diverted by your Weetabix Banana horror (despite having the ingredients). Tea and toast it is!

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 09:50

My brain is trying to connect "fidget people" to fidget spinners and deciding it hasn't had enough coffee for that.

Also, in an effort to respect the spirit of OPs post I will add that those of us who like the Weetabix Banana Horror and those who would never consider allowing such a dish to sully our crockery are clearly destined to be enemies, and it must be a terrible disappointment to see us discussing issues with each other without tears/death threats/declarations that such and such can't sit at our lunch table any more.

Stardustinmyeyes · 26/01/2019 09:51

I have the weetabix but I have NO banana
So it's delicious All Bran for me urggh
Sorry op, what was your point again?

BertrandRussell · 26/01/2019 09:52

Fidget people are the opposite of quiet bat people......

FoxyLaRoxy · 26/01/2019 09:54

You see OP if you make massive wide reaching claims you really should have evidence to back it up. Now, i’m not a lawyer but I believe it is something called defamation or slander.
I get you are angry that we won’t kowtow to the TRA line but that’s the glory of being human. We don’t have to.
The thing about slinging labels such as bigot, transphobia or transphobe at GC people is that you get the boy who cried wolf situation. The more you use them the less people will care. Words lose their power and they become meaningless. I’ve reached MEH stage myself.

Now, go have a nice calming cup of tea and a biscuit and go do something useful with your day. Go for a run, or the gym. You’ll feel better for it.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 09:55

delicious All Bran

(shudders)

AnyFucker · 26/01/2019 09:56

Male entitlement right there

It's a soft boiled egg for me. That lottery of 10 seconds too much or too little can make or unmake the perfect chucky egg. This is how exciting my life is. Oh, the drama.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 09:58

With or without toast soldiers?

(Watch OP accuse me of being pro military)

Floisme · 26/01/2019 09:58

Coffee.
Chocolate.
Banana.

Now where's this evidence?

lisamuggeridge · 26/01/2019 09:59

Have we decided if we are burning women at the stake yet cos am considering ben and jerrys for breakfast and I wanted to make sure that wouldnt seal my fate.

lisamuggeridge · 26/01/2019 10:00

I might have a boiled egg now someone mentioned it.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:00

Ice cream is quite light so if we're doing the test for witches floating first then that might be a good option.

feministfairy · 26/01/2019 10:00

Lisa - you're a heretic - join the rest of us at the stake!

LangCleg · 26/01/2019 10:01

Are toast soldiers still soldiers if you put Marmite on them?

AnyFucker · 26/01/2019 10:01

I am pro the toast soldiers. But not soggy ones.
