Courting the far right is wrong....

OneTimeThing · 26/01/2019 08:12

...if you follow that with a ‘but’ to justify Posie Parker’s courting of the far right, then you are a fascist.

I said I would only post one thing on this board. I kept that promise.

But this is the pits right here. Posie Parker is seeking funding and making deals with white supremacist, crypto fascists, misogynists, homophobes and racists. How does this not show you what your movement is and has always been?

You need to look at yourselves. If your response is anything other than total rejection of posie Parker and all the groups she is involving herself with, then you are just as bad. If you think that trans people/‘trans activists’ are worse than Tommy Robinson, ultra trump supporters and others who spew far right views then you are a racist, sexist, homophobic nightmare. Those labels equally describe what a person is as well as what a person does.

“But what about TRA’s?” Some of you will want to scream at me.

You don’t see Paris Lees going off to get funding from literal fascists. Hell, Caitlin Jenner votes for trump and the global trans community has never and will never forgive her. And either way, none of what “they” do will magically make it okay to go suck up to people that think gay people should be sterilised or that Muslim’s are evil.

Transphobia is revolting. It’s wrong, and it comes as no surprise to hear that transphobia (which most of you peddle right here) will eventually push people towards other kinds of hate.

Take a long hard look at yourselves. I’m a transgender woman, a mum, and I hope at least some of you are seriously thinking about what kind of person you want to be.

I always wanted to win a weaving loom for getting a letter printed in Bunty.
(Am I missing the point of the thread?)

BLADES*

GrandmaSteglitszch · 27/01/2019 12:59

That's terrible, CaptainKirk!

GrandmaSteglitszch · 27/01/2019 13:01

Btw, the Bero cookbook had a lovely recipe for Coffee Kisses, made with Camp coffee.
I don't know if that book and / or recipe are still available.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 27/01/2019 13:03

Anyone else have the talking doll called Cricket?
It used to take cassette tapes?
And if you put Michael jackson's bad in it it would play the tape at double speed.

FlyingOink · 27/01/2019 13:04

GrandmaSteglitszch
It's still available and the older editions can be found on eBay.

GrandmaSteglitszch · 27/01/2019 13:05

Thanks, Oink. Smile

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 27/01/2019 13:06

Coffee kisses sound nice.

OMG blast from the past!!!!

That thing was worse than Chucky!

GrandmaSteglitszch · 27/01/2019 13:10

Wow! Within seconds, I found the recipe together with a bit of social comment :

Incidentally, have you noticed how the label on Camp has changed recently, to make it not racist? I always remember it as the guy in the kilt being served coffee by the Sikh guy, implying a master-servant relationship (still, he got his own back – he was giving him a foul chicory-based coffee substitute, after all). Now they’re both sitting in front of the tent having a nice cuppa together. Aww.

The consensus on anti abortion protestors has just been shocking though, wasn’t expecting that. I thought the feminists were still in there somewhere

The only way I would agree with this, was say, if feminists were actively campaigning against abortion so as to have the support of the antiabortion groups. Nothing like this is happening, so not really getting the point that a fair few seem to be putting across. Putting aside differences for a common goal is sensible IMO. Especially as, if the TRA/MRAs get their way, womens rights will be gone in one swoop.

This new Posie thing seems to be echoing a lot of the 'omg you agree with something written in the daily mail, you must be a Nazi' type nonsense that we used to get on here, and sometimes still do Hmm

I doubt I could fine even ONE person in the whole world whos views aligned on every single one of mine. Yet, it appears feminists are totally in the wrong for not disavowing any other woman with a differing view. Its odd really.

Though of course, it cannot go unnoticed that the only ones who appaear to be taking this path, are the ones who constantly criticise GC fmeinists to start with. Its interesting seeing all the wide eyed innocence along with 'feminists should be concerned they won't be listned to' and such..when its coming from posters who have not even shared a single GC thought ever in a lot of cases (thats not necessarily to you, though I have noticed you say a lot that you are anti-self ID but then spend a long time arguing for it)

BettyDuMonde · 27/01/2019 13:21

Mr Frostie was shit.

BettyDuMonde · 27/01/2019 13:21

We used the glass bottles from the soda stream to decant spirits into for drinking in the park.

WeRiseUp · 27/01/2019 13:33

I always wanted a Mr Frosty and a Soda Stream - never got them though. I thought my parents were too tight because they didn't want to spend money on that kind of flimsy, faddy thing.

I now realise that I have become my parents. I contemplated getting a Soda Stream then looked into the price of cannisters and realised it is far more cost effective to buy loads of sparkling water and cordials to come away with the same drinks. I also ended up getting my daughter a proper ice cream maker rather than a shitty plastic toy one - same price and it actually works.

TinselAngel · 27/01/2019 13:37

My Grandma used to have coffee and chicory for everyday and a tiny jar of Nescafé for visitors. Nescafé was posh.

GrandmaSteglitszch · 27/01/2019 13:40

Exactly, Vixxxy

TRA/MRAs want us squabbling amongst ourselves, while they steamroller over our very existence.

Vixxxy · 27/01/2019 13:41

Mr Frostie was shit.

Indeed. Apparently my parents spent months searching for one for xmas the year they got popular. I think I used it once, then decided it was just too much fuck about.

Skyzalimit · 27/01/2019 13:42

While you're talking about coffee and soda streams the alt right is busy dividing feminists and the left by sucking people in via anti-trans dogwhistling. It's a huge concern.

WeRiseUp · 27/01/2019 13:42

Which feminists are being divided?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 27/01/2019 13:44

While you're talking about coffee and soda streams

Yeah, but I'm not even sure it can be classed as coffee. They can try and divide who they like, each is still aiming for the same goal. It's not like a leader exists.

WeRiseUp · 27/01/2019 13:46

Or do you mean penis activists have infiltrated the left ousted feminists? Eg such as the Labour Party, Stonewall etc.

If that's what you mean, you are a bit late to the party.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 27/01/2019 13:46

Pointing out everyone has different opinions on certain topics isn't going to divide, because we are not a single thinking blob of hive minded.... Things, there's nothing to divide we aren't actually together, we just agree.

Skyzalimit · 27/01/2019 13:48

Well I'm a feminist and I feel divided from the people on this board in terms of opinion about the need to focus on a common enemy (patriarchal capitalism), Daily Mail, Trump, trans people, the alt right, Tommy Robinson, Jordan Peterson, and pro-lifers

WeRiseUp · 27/01/2019 13:49

Never mind

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 27/01/2019 13:49

We know we don't agree on everything. It's not exactly a shock to us.
We don't require constant validation and identical opinions to work towards the same goal.
