Courting the far right is wrong....

OneTimeThing · 26/01/2019 08:12

...if you follow that with a ‘but’ to justify Posie Parker’s courting of the far right, then you are a fascist.

I said I would only post one thing on this board. I kept that promise.

But this is the pits right here. Posie Parker is seeking funding and making deals with white supremacist, crypto fascists, misogynists, homophobes and racists. How does this not show you what your movement is and has always been?

You need to look at yourselves. If your response is anything other than total rejection of posie Parker and all the groups she is involving herself with, then you are just as bad. If you think that trans people/‘trans activists’ are worse than Tommy Robinson, ultra trump supporters and others who spew far right views then you are a racist, sexist, homophobic nightmare. Those labels equally describe what a person is as well as what a person does.

“But what about TRA’s?” Some of you will want to scream at me.

You don’t see Paris Lees going off to get funding from literal fascists. Hell, Caitlin Jenner votes for trump and the global trans community has never and will never forgive her. And either way, none of what “they” do will magically make it okay to go suck up to people that think gay people should be sterilised or that Muslim’s are evil.

Transphobia is revolting. It’s wrong, and it comes as no surprise to hear that transphobia (which most of you peddle right here) will eventually push people towards other kinds of hate.

Take a long hard look at yourselves. I’m a transgender woman, a mum, and I hope at least some of you are seriously thinking about what kind of person you want to be.

I'm away to have bananas with maple syrup in homemade yorkshires for my lunch.

I'm so confused right now. Sweet yorkshire puddings?

andyoldlabour · 26/01/2019 12:52

Oh sorry we are talking breakfast.
We had a late one around 10 this morning. I cook brekky, and it was 2 slices of Co-op sourdough toasted, 2 slices of smoked bacon and nice runny eggs.
All washed down with a couple of cups of Darjeeling - lovely.

JellySlice · 26/01/2019 12:56

Sweet yorkshire puddings?

Ohhhh yes. Like a cross between a waffle and a yorkie. So good!

merrymouse · 26/01/2019 12:57

I have to admit that the Camp coffee label, despite various changes, still relies on nostalgia for imperialism. As with Robertson’s jam, the original label depicted racists stereotypes.

Unfortunate that the promotion of sexist stereotypes is no longer ‘problematic’ for progressives.

LangCleg · 26/01/2019 12:57

I could really go for sweet Yorkshire puddings.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 12:59

Retro sexism is hip, merrymouse, didn't you realize? All those young beardy blokes walking around acting like characters from Anchorman, but it's ironic, like.

Bowlofbabelfish · 26/01/2019 13:05

This is actually quite interesting. I’m thinking back to the waves of people coming in here and telling us we are wrong and there’s been a clear progression of tactic.

First it was be nice. We just want to pee
Then it was TWAW.
Then it was Bad Science month. That got comprehensively demolished because there is no scientific evidence to back up any TRA demands, and biology is stubbornly factual.
Then there was a period of mass reporting individual posters - this resulted in the removal of some great stalwarts like the bewilderness.
Then, in response to greater media awareness, it shifted - to doxing and threatening individuals, abuse of the justice system and the police.
Now we are seeing a shift to equating GC feminism with anything bad. So this week alone I’ve seen the lawyer in NZ call GC women whores. This poster is implying we are all far right. That guardian article linking GC women with the far right. The continual linking with Christian Right wing fundamentalists (I’ve still not had my cheque yet chaps, is it in the post?) and now multiple posters on here linking GC women with the far right.

So I see an escalation. From ‘shut up’ to ‘shut up or else’ to ‘look what you made me do’ and beyond. And I wonder what’s next? Where do we go from here?

OP, two more points. 1. While there are a diversity of political opinions here I’d say there are more lefties than right wingers.

  1. My feminism centres women. Of all colours, religions, races, ages and political leanings. I will not agree with all of those political leanings, but the issues which affect women affect us all, and so I will continue to fight for them.

"Now I feel like Russian cheesecake"

Maybe you'll pass as a cheesecake but you will never really be one.

I dunno, if I consume enough, the human:cheesecake ratio might tip towards cheesecake.
Repeatedly typing the word cheesecake probably helps too, I'm a good wizard.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 13:07

I'm cheesecake inclusive, personally. I have my favorites but ultimately all cheesecake is valid.

RepealTheGRA · 26/01/2019 13:12

I was coming on here just to reiterate I stand with Jean I stand with Posie and I stand with all women speaking out for our sex based rights, but I see we’ve moved on.

So I stand with cheesecake, my preference is strawberry but I will stand with any cheesecake.

GrinitchSpinach · 26/01/2019 13:12

ultimately all cheesecake is valid.

Heresy! New York cheesecake is the one true cheesecake.

BettyDuMonde · 26/01/2019 13:13

You are clearly neither northern nor trans-northern, AAK!

Left over yorkies with sugar is pudding - they are only roast pancakes, after all!

O4FS · 26/01/2019 13:16

We are perfectly capable of making our own minds up OneTimeThing without you dictating.

Your sweeping generalisation that we must all
Be ‘transphobic’ for just being here is highly offensive.

The beauty of this forum/the feminists threads is that we think for ourselves and make our own minds up.

Sweet Yorkshire’s!?! Have never heard of that!

I love breakfast. Usually we do instant pot oats because we can’t be bothered standing over the porridge pot for a whole 5 minutes Grin also because you get a bit more substance and it’s very filling. Lashings of yoghurt and black strap molasses and I’m happy till second breakfast when I have toast and a cup of tea. It’s 1pm now though and I’ve only had two meals so I’m absolutely famished.

I’ve also thought a lot about ‘who I want to be’. A lot. I want to be The Divine Empress and from now on I identify as she and expect to be worshipped and adored for my stunning bravery. Thank you.

Cheesecake! That’s lunch sorted...I shall order husband to go searching immediately

JellySlice · 26/01/2019 13:19

Baked cheescake.

concretesieve · 26/01/2019 13:20

Sweet yorkshire puds go back a fair way. IIRC, Paul McCartney remembers having them as a child with great affection. I knew lots of kids who also enjoyed them - traditional with golden syrup after the Sunday roast.

My parents preferred what they'd been brought up with - and which I still like - yorkshire with gravy to start with, and then the meat and veg.

Won’t someone think of the vegans?

RepealTheGRA · 26/01/2019 13:23

Vegan cheesecake is very nice! Mmmm

Oxytocindeficient · 26/01/2019 13:25

Oh yes, vegan cheesecake is delicious.

OvulaRasa · 26/01/2019 13:27

Can't stand saussages! I'll go with pancakes too

AspieAndProud · 26/01/2019 13:30

Oh yes, vegan cheesecake is delicious.

Only if made with fresh vegans. The frozen ones just don’t taste the same.

WrathofRancidKlopp · 26/01/2019 13:31

Swhittle verb
To swhit·tle | \ ˈhwi-tᵊl, ˈwi-

swhittled; swhittling
Refers to legal or official documents.

Swhittle.
To intentionally replace a word in a document with a word of a different meaning in the hope that no one notices.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 26/01/2019 13:34

I have an apple but it identifies in essence as a baked cheesecake.

I am fully prepared to call you all bigots or fascists or right wingers or whores or Leavers or Remainers or poo poo heads or rotten lemon drizzle cake makers or anything else I can think of that might get a reaction in this matter. Since that seems to be this weekend's trend.
