No different to the 69 year old Dutchman identifying as a 49 year old.

Or a person identifying as the opposite sex.

Well, race is a ‘social construct.’ There aren’t clear divisions between races. We are all ‘mixed race’. We’ve even got fragments of Neanderthal DNA.

Isn't it ethnicity is a social construct, but race can't be changed, rather like the difference between sex and gender.

When I was studying psychology (a million years ago) you would hear lecturers tell of how there would still be some old ladies (so not hugely long ago) who genuinely believed that if a non black woman ever slept with a black man, she could very well go on to have a black child later on (no matter what colour the father of the baby). Now I’m guessing that this misconception came about as a result of affairs and an explanation of mixed race babies though.

Either way. Bonkers. Still, no trans race takers?

Where do daytime TV find these delusional/vulnerable/attention seeking people to go on these shows and make these nonsense claims?

I read this on the metros Facebook page the comments are all along these lines (although mainly having a go at the female half of the couple obviously) -

And three comments I saw saying things along the lines of -

Why is this any different than allowing people to change gender.

Even without mixed race people there aren’t clear divisions between races the way there is with sex. Where do ‘Europeans’ end and ‘Asians’ begin?

I noticed the interview on This Morning was conducted very differently to when they have trans and/or gender critical people on. No sense of irony though.

Specifically the woman here is self-ID'ing as a black woman. Why the sympathy..? Because she's a woman?

Do black women and their lived experiences including denial of microaggressions against them, not elicit sympathy?

Funnily enough black women will also be affected by men self-IDing, men pretending to be women. You know, the same concerns as you..given that we are women n all.

& that so many will claim solidarity and understanding with us when it suits their cause, yet we know theyve never spoken to a black woman in their life to find out if we'd even align with them..a la Paris Lees

Its breathtaking how quickly black women are othered. Why anyone would even do the trans Self-ID comparison or have 'more' sympathy for this fool in blackface who should have been ignored and left in obscurity, I don't know.

I think I should be able to identify as a 6’4” athletic twenty year old Afro-Caribbean man, and any pro-basketball teams that do not accept that this is real and refuse to give me a multi million dollar playing contract with lots of celebrity endorsements, of course, are doing me literal violence.

Well she didn’t look like she would threaten to batter you/kill you/kill herself or have a general toddler tantrum if you looked her in the eye and said ‘missis, you are whitened no amount of fake bake will make you black’.

I’m so glad that this insanity is being taken to it’s logical extension. Eventually the whole house of cards with collapse.

It’s no different to people self ID-big as a different sex to the one they were born or to people who want to self-ID as an attack helicopter as far as I’m concerned. It’s completely bonkers and a load of carp.

I honestly do not understand the difference between this and men who insist that they are women. Look at the difference in the way they are treated to when say, Munroe or India are on and are treated totally seriously? How is it different?!!!

People (rightly) saying its batshit to say that these guys will have a black baby. And yet a short time ago a male Labour Party Women's Officer was claiming that they could get pregnant.
