I will start with some cyclist who just got the stabilisers off called Dr Rachel Mckinnon telling Martina Navratilova that "You don't hit a tennis ball with your tennis ball or vagina. If you do, you're doing it wrong." No link I'm afraid because the tweet seems to have been pulled after much bullying of Martina.

Every white male senior executive ever giving a lengthy monologue over the importance of getting more women into STEM or otherwise putting himself in charge of a

I'd name names but it'd be outing. So I'm leaving you with this gem instead (not outing as thankfully only published internally for a change):

^I'm very happy that [tech competition we sponsored] was won by an all female team. It's important to have gender diversity in our workplace. Women, being kinder and the better communicators, is a priceless contribution to our male dominated teams that are often rife with competition ... "

[My face, visible behind him during the entire video because you can't hold a diversity event without your designated token female exec being in attendance: Confused]

I think you're right about Harrop: he would love this award, which is why we can't give him it.

hackmum · 24/12/2018 11:05

It's a difficult one. Harrop is incredibly offensive but what he does goes far beyond mansplaining - there is a real deep-seated misogyny about it, which became clear in the Sky interview. A true mansplainer is a man who genuinely thinks he's being helpful when he "explains" something to a woman who is vastly better informed about the topic at hand than he is. There's an almost-sweet naivety about the fact he really imagines he knows better than the woman, despite all the evidence to the contrary. The Shariatmadari tweets "explaining" to Janice Turner why she was wrong are the perfect example of this.

Peter Tatchell, I think, comes somewhere between the two. He hates women, and thinks he knows better than them.

MsMcWoodle · 24/12/2018 14:24

Part of me would love Harrop to win, but Mckinnon's effort was just so spectacular and so very public.
I also like the bloke who popped up on twitter today to tell Janice Turner she wasn't doing journalism properly.

LemonAndPoppySeed · 24/12/2018 14:28

Eammon Holmes because This Morning has the biggest female audience.

I still can't get over how nasty Ruth was to Posie off air.

LemonAndPoppySeed · 24/12/2018 14:31

Ruth gets snapped at by her husband so bullies other women to feel better?

TheCountryGirl · 24/12/2018 14:41

I missed that Lemon...what did Ruth say to Posie? I actually used to think Ruth and Eamonn were ok once upon a time...God forgive me but I think I'd rather have Pip and Holly now.

LemonAndPoppySeed · 24/12/2018 14:45

I don't recall the exact exchange. It was along the lines of "Nobody likes you or agrees with you because you're not kind even on Twitter" and Posie responded that the GC movement has got plenty of support.

groundcontroltomontydon · 24/12/2018 15:19

Maybe something for Owen Jones too?
As flouncer-in-chief and woke corresponent for the Woke-ian he certainly deserves something - some toys to throw out of his pram maybe?

SirVixofVixHall · 24/12/2018 15:53

Ruth was horrible to Posie off air ?

TheCountryGirl · 24/12/2018 16:09

Wow I had no idea...How fucking rude is Ruth? And Posie is very much liked and admired.

SirVixofVixHall · 24/12/2018 16:34

That is shockingly rude of Ruth. I thought she might have more sense than that. I am so fed up of even other women telling feminists they must be “nice”, meaning nice to men at women’s expense.

terryleather · 24/12/2018 17:03

Here's LOJ proudly clutching his award...

Nominations for the "Mansplainer of the Year 2018 award" please - huge phallic trophy to be won....
TheCountryGirl · 24/12/2018 17:06

By living with that prat Holmes for so long and pandering to his ego, she probably thinks other women should be like that.

ChewyLouie · 24/12/2018 19:07

Terryleather
That really cracked me up 🌟

MsMcWoodle · 25/12/2018 12:17

Terryleather that needs to be sent to him!

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 25/12/2018 16:54

Can I please nominate the man who mansplained labouring to me, whilst I was in labour with my seventh child (stopped by to pick something up during home birth 🙄)?

Said man also dropped out of the medical degree I completed, after 6 months, so is fully aware of my knowledge base.

Mumminmum · 26/12/2018 12:29

No one is mentioning Piers Morgan?

terryleather · 26/12/2018 15:35

I'm afraid I can't take credit for the LOJ pic, it was doing the rounds earlier this year after Sticker Woman appeared.

But it is fabulous. And I believe it should be seen more widely Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 26/12/2018 18:01

No one is mentioning Piers Morgan?

Every cloud...

WrathofRancidKlopp · 27/12/2018 20:42

I nominate silly Lily for fourth place,
as no one remembers who came fourth.

keeponspinning · 28/12/2018 09:07

David Shariatmadari for his pastronising 'deconstruction' of Janice Turner's article.

Ereshkigal · 28/12/2018 10:01

We haven't had Brian Paddick yet I think? Still, he's a bit too lame to win a "Mansplainer of the Year" award.
