I wish the author would have challenged Lees a bit more. It's all a bit fluffy.
No comments. so readers can't ask the questions the interviewer didn't ask.

Wrathof come on, there are countless of vapid female celebs who turn up late to interviews or make ludicrous demands. Do we really need to start listing them? Watch TOWIE and ‘the GC’ who is one example.

It’s a minor point but PL is acting no differently to many young women and it’s unfair to pretend otherwise.

Womantheonlykind · 11/12/2018 17:32

How many young women choose to put the word sleaze in their name?

Womantheonlykind · 11/12/2018 17:35

I hoped a new Editor would bring a shiny new age for Vogue and instead I have had to give up my subscription because I can't bear the fawning.

Funkyfunkybeat12 · 11/12/2018 17:37

What does that mean- the word sleaze? I thought Lees was just her surname. Does it have a hidden meaning? Just pointing out (and you can watch an episode of Love Island if you don’t believe me) that there are many many empty headed narcissists around- both male and female. It’s become a whole industry

WrathofbubonicKlop · 11/12/2018 19:08

I rarely watch reality TV, aside from the occasional episode of CBB.
I don't watch Towie, so I don't know who GC is.
At the moment I like to watch the parliamentary debates to see who is willing to discuss the GRA and who isn't.

Avegemitesandwich · 11/12/2018 19:35

Yes, but Paris isn't marketing themselves as a vapid Z lister, they are trying to put themselves out there as 'serious journalist'. How many women from TOWIE or Love Island have appeared on Question Time? Twice? Or written for The Guardian? Have any of them become columnists for Vogue? Or been touted as a 'modern day suffragette'? How many of those women have ever been taken seriously enough to be asked to do that?

But Paris 'sorry I'm late I'm having a bad hair day' Lees is taken seriously enough for those things. Because trans

Funkyfunkybeat12 · 11/12/2018 19:57

True. Although in reality I wonder how many people do take her seriously. It’s like a certain labour ex women’s officer who is clearly dim but is given a lot of visibility.

OlennasWimple · 11/12/2018 20:58

Exactly vege - the vapid female slebs who are late because of their hair don't get treated seriously (and that's before considering how a female sleb who wrote as frankly about her sexual encounters would be treated... The only person I can think of who is quite so open is Julie Burchill, and she has a particular niche of her own)
