As an autistic person and parent of autistic child, was horrified to read this article, and in particular this line One practical outcome of this research is that clinicians are recommending that autistic youth should be screened for gender dysphoria. Wtf. No no no.

Then along come the TRAs and tell us explicitly that this is how girls should act, and this is how boys should act, and we see we don’t fit that ‘normal’ gender role, and we begin to doubt our own gender.

Sounds logical.

And many are probably so happy and relieved that someone finally spells stuff out for them that they immediately go with it.

(I am bad at picking up non-verbal signals myself, and also bad at imitating the "proper behaviour" of others, and I love books that just spell out things like: "The socially accepted way of getting a barkeeper in a busy pub to notice you is so and so and so.")

I agree with all you said Aspie and would add that Autistic kids tend to be;

Aware that they are different to their peers
Trusting and believe all they are told
Drawn to online communication
Obsessive
Drawn to categorization and tick lists to make sense of the world.

So basically it's a perfect storm between trans ideology and the autistic personality
