What if you rescue battery farm hens and collect the unfertilised eggs they happen to lay in the home you've made for them??

How about if I have my own chickens in the garden? They have a huge run to play in during the day, warmth and shelter in their coop at night, their enclosure is foxproof and they get a wide variety of foods in plentiful quantities. There's always fresh water for them, and sometimes they get to come out of the run/coop and have human contact.

We do collect their eggs but on the whole I would say they have a pretty good life. Oh and they are all (I have 3) ex battery hens too.

So fuck off PETA. I will continue to eat eggs, I will continue not to buy commercially-produced ones. My hens probably have a better life than some of you if that's all you have to worry about.

So Peta are policing feminism now, they can just fuck off.

I care about animal welfare, pets are neutered and from animal rescues, I chose high welfare meat and was edging towards vegetarianism. But Peta have a history of degrading women to make a point so appealing to my female socialisation isn't not going to work.

The thing is, surely if you eat meat, you don't see other animals as on a par with humans anyway, so the 'feminism' thing is irrelevant.

I am supportive of environmentalism and animal rights and all that, but it is not feminism and I hate it when people pretend that it is.

Feminism is about women.

Anything that isn't about women, but about men, or animals, is not feminism.

You could hatch dual purpose chickens from eggs, keep the hens for eggs, and kill the males as soon as they start raping the females.

This from the organization that protests against farmed meat in supermarkets by wrapping naked women in clingfilm? Whose boss uses insulin derived from pigs but apparently that's OK in her case because she's so important to the survival of animals overall? The organization that's been caught snatching dogs from people's gardens and having them put down because they think keeping pets is like slavery?

I'm willing to consider the basic concept, but I wouldn't trust PETA to make a coherent argument about why sticking metal forks in light sockets is a poor life choice.

PETA's full time preoccupation is coming up with ridiculous bullshit to generate publicity. I read an article recently where they'd written to the village of 'Wool' to ask them to change their name 🙄 They're a bunch of attention seeking wankers.

We are told to risk being raped and murdered by males in order to "do feminism right", so I wouldn't be surprised to be asked to risk death by disease, too.
