I don't think I am permanently banned but it won't let me delete the tweets etc... it won't let me past the email sent for verification so I think I am screwed
Funnily enough I think one of the offending tweets was before the new rules....someone has been trawling through my timeline...well at least it stops them trying to get into women's spaces eh?

So I am banned - fuck it

"This includes; women"

Does twitter ever ban anyone for abusing women?

No, because only men who identify as women matter.

MsMcWoodle · 02/02/2019 20:28

Funnily enough, I am on a week's twitter holiday, for taking the piss out of men. I have complained because sex, as we know, is not a protected characteristic as far as twitter is concerned.
I have used the time to write a long letter to my MP about freedom of speech and the gc movement. Had a letter back saying that the MP shares my 'huge concerns'.
Next stop is the GMC. Lots of new stuff to say.
After that I'm compiling a list of everyone who has been harassed using out legal system. I don't know if anyone else is doing this? Happy to help anyone else but otherwise, I'm collecting twitter or any other nicknames with details, where people don't mind me doing this.

I've just got locked out of Twitter and it won't let me back in.

I think I'll ditch that account and set up a new one through a proxy server.

CBA to argue with a bot. Plus bonus will be I won't be on Terfblocker for a while.

MsMcWoodle · 02/02/2019 20:52

I will set up new accounts too. People did warn me.
Main message to any women silencing lurkers out there - I won't shut up. I will move to different platforms, user names, techniques, whatever. You can't shut me up.

2019StandingforWomen · 02/02/2019 21:54

Me neither. I have no reason to back down and every motivation to continue.

lisamuggeridge · 02/02/2019 21:58

Am quite excited about what twitters share price will be by next summer. Financial analysts are desperately ignoring their relaionship with women while wringing hands about the platform.

Carowiththegoodhair · 02/02/2019 22:07

I found myself self-censoring last night because I wanted to say the majority of transwomen still have penises but instead linked to the Fair Play Website which says it.

I am deemed important enough to have my own hate blog and a team of 9-15 people monitoring my tweets 24/7. I got a 12 hour ban for a Buzz Lightyear gif which misgendered an anime profile.

Having tweetcleaner on your account helps. It stops them from trawling your old tweets for wrong speak.

Carowiththegoodhair · 02/02/2019 22:10

Dr Harrop can engage in intimidation tactics tweeting photos of the interior my husband’s church and boast about how it’s not targeted harassment but I am not allowed to use a Twitter provided Buzz Lightyear gif.

😀😁😂🤣🤣😂😃😄😅

Oh Caroline they are beyond satire. So sorry about all the harrassment you are getting. And how crap the police are.

Carowiththegoodhair · 02/02/2019 22:16

Thank you. At least they interviewed the suspect under caution but you know, doxing my 14 year old daughter, boasting you know her school, how she travels there and blogging photos showing you are 3 minutes walk from my house, is not serious enough for them to get the hard evidence.

I’m fighting it...in the meantime I might like a limerick.

7Days · 02/02/2019 22:45

That has been going on for ages now Caro. Horrendous behaviour.

I wonder what would happen if someone retweeted some horrible uncensored comment about women, with the text exactly the same but with tw where w was.

It might be illuminating.

VortexofBloggery · 03/02/2019 13:01

I left Twitter recently because I came to the conclusion, they just don't deserve the patronage. I could no longer participate in a platform that hates women and doesn't want us to share in the freedom to say any ol shit, that is extended to men. When you are rubbing pixels with paedophiles and swastikas and graphics of lynched women, it is time to leave (it was for me). I have also noticed friends speaking about Women's Rights more freely and wanting to meet in real life to talk more together. It's an interesting and welcome development that a hostile environment like Twitter encourages women to network independently of it. I believe more can be achieved offline than on (being that anonymity is never held in the same regard as a real person putting their name to an action, word or thought) , but I do recognise the value the Internet has in bringing people and ideas together. Twitter is hostile to women and I'm not sure "another twitter" would fix that. Happy to be wrong. Mumsnet is extraordinary. I'm sure all this has been said before, but thought I'd say it again.
