Self ID hasnt/won't lead to any significant problems

Christopher Hambrook, Karen white. The rare exceptions that prove the rule that self ID really isn't a big deal. Predatory males don't need to take advantage of it as they are already perfectly capable of creating their own "opportunities" without self ID.

Is this correct? Do we have a comprehensive catalogue somewhere of incidents that demonstrate that self ID would be a problem?

What you'd be doing is effectively making everywhere mixed sex. And mixed spaces are much more dangerous. Some men really are stopped from assaulting women by single sex spaces and there being a taboo around entering them

See here Independent article on assaults in mixed loos

In addition, women's objections to men in their spaces aren't simply about the threat of assault. It's about privacy and the right not to have to look at men's genitals.

Take a look also at the threads in which women who are already forced at work and elsewhere to use mixed sex toilets talk about how often they go in them to find men pissing with the cubicle doors open. One MN poster even reported this happening at the school in which she works.

That's a problem we don't want - but it's happening all over the place.

This. Why is this always ignored as if it's only not being raped which is an issue?

There’s a whole thread on it. All events being recorded it’s in feminism chat I think.

"Exception that proves the rule" refers to when an exception clarifies a rule, eg those signs saying "except guide dogs" mean no dogs allowed, except guide dogs. That makes it evident that you can use all the excuses you like, "my dog is small/well behaved/clean/in a basket" - it doesn't matter. If your dog isn't a guide dog, its not allowed inside.
What it doesn't mean that you can brush away inconvenient examples as the "exception that proves the rule".

If trans women are women then Karen White is a woman. You don't get to pick and choose who is 'genuine' and who isn't, that's how self ID works. The person is the authority on whether they are a woman or not.
Being repeatedly raped on a psychiatric ward by Karen White was a significant problem for the victim.
But just being locked in a mixed sex ward is immensely stressful.

Crimes are recorded by sex, and trans women are women. So their crimes are recorded as having been committed by a woman.
