Thats a good article - I'm glad all this stuff is starting to come out.

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 22:21

To post links put at the beginning and at the end.

VovoBickie · 10/11/2018 22:26

I'm glad the ideology point is coming out personally because that's how I feel. It's a belief system I don't follow.

IdaBWells · 10/11/2018 22:35

Exactly an ideology that certain individuals in many organizations are attempting to make orthodoxy.

Wrathofjurgenklop · 10/11/2018 22:37

Finally
A news article that has the right words in the right places.
Clever use of quotation marks and capital letters, and a glossary to explain the tricky terms.

Methinks the journalist is telling the truth.

Charliethefeminist · 11/11/2018 01:49

Also brilliant that the refusal to believe in trans ideology and express that refusal is a human right and that was so clearly quoted by the article. Good reporting.

Charliethefeminist · 11/11/2018 01:50

Camilla and Joani!!

Just saw the bylines

Bloody brilliant

Have some Gin

Good grief. The presence of a woman made Madigan "feel uncomfortable".

Tough shit. We're here; we're women. Get used to it.

The presence of a woman made Madigan "feel uncomfortable".

Deos anyone has a link to the transcript of the 1984-style interrogation of Venice Allen, by a Labour Party woke bloke? It was astounding that a grown man would come out with such tosh - even more astounding that he would think he could make a grown woman feel intimidated and guilty with said tosh 😂

Juells · 11/11/2018 08:53

'does' and 'have'

GCAcademic · 11/11/2018 08:55

Jess Philips is my friend's MP. She told my friend in a letter regarding self ID that she would 'continue to ensure that the safety of woman is never jeopardised.'

It’s a different person quoted in the article, “Jes Phillips”, not the MP, Jess.

Juells · 11/11/2018 08:57

Jess Philips is my friend's MP.

If you're referring to the Jes Phillips mentioned in the article, they make the point that it isn't the MP.

Juells · 11/11/2018 08:59

Haha, four posts in a row, I'm flying!

Found the transcript of the Venice Allen interrogation.

VickyEadie · 11/11/2018 09:00

Some typical homophobic comments under that article, mind.

HandsOffMyRights · 11/11/2018 09:02

Oh thanks Juells. That'll teach me for reading quickly.

When I thought it was Jess, it left me even lower.

HandsOffMyRights · 11/11/2018 09:02

Thanks GC too.

NotTerfNorCis · 11/11/2018 09:04

Yes the people commenting under the article seem to be right wing men, some who're openly homophobic and others who hate feminists and blame them for trans ideology.

hackmum · 11/11/2018 09:38

The comments really are depressing. Imagine being a Telegraph journalist and discovering that, far from having the educated professional audience you thought you had, your readers are a bunch of nasty, small-minded, not-very-bright bigots.

Good article, though. I am increasingly convinced that the Labour Party has taken leave of its senses.

FekkoThePenguin · 11/11/2018 09:46

This is why we have a fight at the checkout over the 'free' newpaper in waitrose.

Grab a paper Fek
Hmmmm - torygraph then
No - just get a guardian
Not gonna happen
Just grab one will you?
No
Oh come on you don't need to read it
No
It's good to read a range of media blablabla
NO I wouldn't wipe my arse on that sexist, anti woman rag! When I was a student it was good - but now it's a right on rag - so right on its right off...

Happens frequently. I've seen other shopper reach out for a copy then stop, or surupticipusly return copies of the gruniard to the shelf. I think of it as public information announcement as art.

ThePrincipal · 11/11/2018 09:49

Interesting that it quotes
ECHR article 9 wrt freedom of thought and belief.

thatdamnwoman · 11/11/2018 09:50

What Hackmum said. I've always been told that that people who work at the Telepgraph are far more progressive than the average reader. The comments are deeply depressing. They may not support the TRAs but they are so bigoted and poorly informed. And the TRAs complain about Mumsnet...

merrymouse · 11/11/2018 10:17

Interesting that the Facebook post wasn’t a problem because it misgendered a specific person - just expressing general disagreement with ‘TWAW’ caused disciplinary action.
