cor that link is interesting reading

it appears that Anthony George Halliday was accused of hitting someone over the back of a the head with a golf club

it also appears that Anthony George Halliday had at that point (2002) appeared before the courts on five previous occasions for offences which included disorderly behaviour, indecent assault on a male, and also a number of offences of dishonesty.

gosh. if I had previously been Anthony George Halliday I might get a bit tetchy about people deadnaming me and linking my shiny new name with that of Anthony George Halliday.

Such bullies. Mums don't give in to bullies.

Any crowd funder will have my absolute support.

With no commentary because I know Stephanie doesn't like commentary. The words speak for themself I think.

It's so totally righteous and brave to make fun of intersex people.

Sarahconnor1 · 12/11/2018 20:29

Ereshkigal

So very brave

Wow, the hatred in whatever-their-name-is-today's-tweet.
Definitely, " a mind set that is problematic" as previously described.

So this is a "thing" this morning...

Mumsnet is breaching section 26 of the Equality Act 2010 (harassment) by hosting feminist forums that discuss gender-critical issues - legal case?

Mornin’ Hamster Grin

For the record, would you mind me asking if, as a trans member of this forum, you have ever been subjected to harassment by other forum members?

Flowers Halo

Betty Not once. Every time I've posted I've always been treated with respect. I've never felt personally attacked, harassed, or been the "victim" of transphobia.

I certainly don't feel "unsafe" visiting this board or posting to it. Neither do I feel my existence as a transsexual is being erased or belittled in any way by the posts here.

howard97A · 13/11/2018 08:16

"At least these fuckers test how well our laws are actually written."

Unfortunately, I think they may find that the way our laws are written suits them very well. Or perhaps I'm just a pessimist.

We really need legal protection about vexatious litigation.

It is utterly bizarre for members of privileged groups to be able identify into disadvantaged groups and claim compensation.

BettyDuMonde · 13/11/2018 08:20

Good to hear, Hamster!

Thank you for answering - apologies for the intrusion!

ThePrincipal · 13/11/2018 08:31

I’m an ordinary woman and the flaming I get on MN (not on Feminism board) could be quite intense. Kinda what you expect posting on MN, does that count as harassment worthy of legal action? Or are we just more resilient compared with these ❄️?

Bowlofbabelfish · 13/11/2018 08:33

A restraining order?

How does that work against a website you have actively go to and read?

FekkoThePenguin · 13/11/2018 08:33

Bang on!

BettyDuMonde · 13/11/2018 08:34

The fashion and style boards ARE brutal, to be fair.

Bowlofbabelfish · 13/11/2018 08:40

An individual hitting another individual about the head with a golf club? That’s the kind of action that can cause serious injury or even death. It’s a very aggressive action.

I note the person hit with the golf club later died, although the document also notes there was no suggestion that being hit in the head with a golf club was the specific cause of death.

Still, the sort of individual who would hit someone around the head with a golf club would seem to me to be someone I wouldn’t want in close proximity to me.

I’m not sure exactly what creating a load of shell companies which close before the need to post accounts would do can achieve, because I’m not a financial person. So I shan’t speculate

What sort of fraud could be perpetuated by such an action, speaking theoretically and with reference to no named or specific individual? Could anyone enlighten me?

It’s just that hitting people around the head with golf clubs and all this shell company stuff is rather far from my sphere of existence.

I do live a sheltered, innocent life.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 13/11/2018 08:40

Joining mumsnet and then complaining when you get your arse handed to you is a bit like joining a fencing club and calling the police because someone came at you with a weapon

Hamster00 · 13/11/2018 08:40

I tend to steer well clear of the weight loss boards Betty. For someone who is a tad overweight, that section of MN is like a new circle of hell. The robust discussions on exercise, burning calories and certain vegetables scare the shit out of me.

madmum5811 · 13/11/2018 08:42

Sometimes there is sarkiness. I think we need to remember people come here from different countries with their own take on things. What we take as a given others for reasons of upbringing may be shocked by.
