So the Sun is distorting truthful reporting by omissions?
This person cannot be described as female?
Was the inmate penetrated by a female penis?!

FlawedAmazon · 10/11/2018 15:02

I'll be waiting with bated breath for an apology from all the people who gave me abuse on FB and called me a transphobic bigot when I pointed out the bleeding obvious.

cockBlocker · 10/11/2018 15:20

Matthew Wright has claimed on Twitter he was referring to another example. However, this is disingenuous (quelle surprise!) as the example he reuses had a man doling out the homophobic abuse and throwing the first punches, which he (deliberately) failed to mention to preserve his man feelings.

Also, as the case he claims to be referring to was in 2010, I suspect that he actually was referring the case of the OP, but then switched it for this one to cover himself.

FlawedAmazon · 10/11/2018 16:19

MW blocked myself and several others on Twitter for pointing it out.

Has anyone posted a link to Jean Hatchets petition on Change.org?
''Charge a crime as a male crime, according to UK law - not by self-identified "gender".''

Whenever a woman is involved in a really nasty crime, I google her pic now. Shocking how many turn out to be trans when you consider the tiny not worth mentioning fraction of the population that they make up.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 10/11/2018 17:24

katVon

Oooh nice Grin

Very good point ricky...

FrumpyTrumpy · 10/11/2018 17:25

If the WEP were useful they'd be be lobbying the media the way transmedia watch do to make sure they accurately name all trans crimes as trans.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 10/11/2018 17:32

frumpy

Yup

ThreeWheeler I am forever in your debt!

Ain’t that the truth. It breaks my heart that there’s a women’s party that, as well as being ineffectual, isn’t addressing such a huge issue affecting women’s identity and rights.

DryHeave · 19/11/2020 12:59

There’s an update on this now.

The judge refers to the “so-called victim” and says “I accept that had it not been for the alleged victim in this case there probably wouldn’t have been an incident.”

What is going on?!

SunsetBeetch · 19/11/2020 13:05

Special treatment again:

"'The four of you then were subjected to extremely offensive transphobic and racial abuse. Had it not been for that there would have been no violent disorder.

'However that does not excuse what you did, you went far to far in your reactions, but of course transphobic issues are particularly sensitive."

HecatesCats · 19/11/2020 13:07

In other words, we're seeing the danger of what happens when violent male crime is reported as female - media and society believing that women are just as violent as men and therefore trying to weaken our argument.

Precisely

Kantastic · 19/11/2020 13:07

This is actually really scary.

'It is a sign that the so-called victim realised how wrong he was by refusing to cooperate and not make any statement" according to the judge.

I wonder if he was afraid of being charged with hate crimes if he did!

Also I love that line - from the prosecutor of all people - "this of course started an altercation." Of course! Clearly they weren't actually responsible for their actions, the kerbstomping was an inevitable outcome of the insult.

And of course, if they were actually women, the altercation woudn't have been a matter "of course", would it? It would be very surprising for a group of women who were verbally abused by a man (a common occurence) to do this.

SunsetBeetch · 19/11/2020 13:10

I'm disgusted by this. No excuse for transphobia or racism, of course. But there's no excuse for violence as a reaction either. Jesus christ

happydappy2 · 19/11/2020 13:21

That looked like a Cat 1 assault, of greater harm (sustained repeated assault on same victim) aggravating factor of leading role in a group or gang....should have got 6 months inside

DryHeave · 19/11/2020 13:24

Wonder if the judge didn’t want to wade into which prison to send them to...

yourhairiswinterfire · 19/11/2020 13:36

'However that does not excuse what you did, you went far to far in your reactions, but of course transphobic issues are particularly sensitive."

Ah right. So if someone insults us over something that is 'particularly sensitive' to us, we can all beat the holy shit out of them safe in the knowledge that our only punishment will be a half hearted telling off from a judge, yes?

What a great message, what amazing progress Hmm
