Bugger it! Too slow at typing!

LikeDust · 09/11/2018 08:15

MW used it as an example of female violence as a Gotcha for Posie.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 09/11/2018 08:18

Nooooooooo

Really??????

Gosh, what a surprise, did not see that coming

So i can tell dh and ds1 and ds2 that they are safe from gangs of marauding women?

Gosh that is a relief...feel a bit embarrassed that i told them to run away if they saw a group of women, it was making life a bit difficult to be fair, and that group of nuns were very surprised when dh yelled 'dont hurt me'

The maximum jail sentence the magistrates court applies for a single offence is six months. The magistrates here have sent it up to crown court for sentencing, so they clearly think this attack warrants a sentence of longer than six months.

I will add that there are only about 600 women currently in prison for violent offences (and not all of them are actually women).

HomeStar · 09/11/2018 08:29

Both papers are making it quite clear that the crime was committed by transwomen.

I think that wouldn’t have happened a few months ago. There were a lot of news stories about trans crimes that described the perpetrators as “women” and just had a photo to tell the truth.

Am I being optimistic or is that a very positive sign?

Charliethefeminist · 09/11/2018 08:56

I think you are right homestar

Zeugma · 09/11/2018 09:14

Well, well, who'd a thunk it? Hmm

AbsintheFriends · 09/11/2018 10:01

I feel optimistic about the way this has been reported too. Day to day it doesn't feel like anything is changing, but when you look back you can see how far we've come. The sands have shifted and scales have fallen.

(Thoughts to the victim. It was a shockingly traumatic attack.)

LizzieSiddal · 09/11/2018 10:15

I love the fact The DM are referring to these people as Transgender women. I wonder if we will ever see that in other media outlets?

LizzieSiddal · 09/11/2018 10:16

Sorry HomeStart, I didn't see your post for some reason. I agree with you, this reporting is a positive sign.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 09/11/2018 10:56

I think the Daily Mail would have made it clear before but the Sun wouldn't.
It still hurts to see the Sun article constantly describe them as 'women', though.

MistressDeeCee · 09/11/2018 11:04

Tylah-Jo Bryan, Michael O’Docherty — who uses the name Tamzin Lush — and Amarnih Lewis-Daniel set upon the man at London’s Leicester Square tube station at 2.15am on June 24

The three women were born male

it's a bit much having to prayers both the Sun and Daily Mail often times these days

WarmWishes · 09/11/2018 11:19

If prison on the cards?

If so, can you consider signing this?

I feel erased and dehumanised when transgendered men are referred to as women. Do I not exist?

Datun · 09/11/2018 11:51

That's reassuring lang.

MagicMix · 09/11/2018 11:52

The problem with the term 'transgender women' or 'transwomen' is that people who are not au fait with the terminology (which is a lot of people) may get completely the wrong end of the stick and believe that it means women who want to be men.

I have definitely seen examples of people believing that transwomen are women, not in the TWAW mantra sense, but just simply assuming the intended definitions of the words transwoman and transman are the opposite of what they actually are.

LizzieSiddal · 09/11/2018 11:55

Magic there’s little confusion when we have pictures.

Callmejudith · 09/11/2018 11:57

Shock horror!

Callmejudith · 09/11/2018 11:58

That person deflowering the dinosaur is 100% male

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/11/2018 12:01

Re the dinosaur statue - I think so too, but the story went 'puff' and we never found out for certain!

Waspnest · 09/11/2018 12:15

That dinosaur pic - how do the police know they're looking for a woman? Surely they're not just seeing the dress and shoes and making an assumption? Because that whole pervy fetish thing is really common in the female population isn't it?

It's all a load of bollocks.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/11/2018 12:17

While the woman who was involved was (as far as I can see) not referred to as a 'woman' but as a 'mother of 4'. Confused
