Alabanza retweeted these reviews:

BURGERZ by @travisalabanza was an absolutely phenomenal piece of work. So intricately written with such an important message, perfectly woven into a performance that felt both fierce and tender - all whilst deeply rooted in authenticity. Oh and the direction? Sublime 👌🏾

I saw the matinee of #Burgerz by @travisalabanza yesterday and it feels so special to have been there. Part emotional release, part humorous romp, part ritual - retelling and reclaiming of trauma - it was flawlessly managed and controlled. Hats off! Such strength and beauty 💜

Which is a shame as it appears to be very accurate (and entertaining) Enjoy Grin

I accept your tribute. I am a benevolent dictator.

Gratified to hear this, You are the people's dictator.

Datun · 04/11/2018 23:31

So hang on a minute, does that mean MN have actually been on they’s web sight and checked, just so they didn’t offend they? How considerate of them...

Dying.

I have now started recalling the Coupling "Helmet of Truth" episode which allows everyone to hear the wearer's thoughts. The racing narcissist is ostensibly talking about choice of cushions, but once the helmet of truth is in place, all that comes out of her mouth is "me, me, me."

There's more than a few folks out there whose preferred pronouns I hear as "me, me, me."

Here's a link for Travis to donate to a foundation made in honour for a young woman who was murdered for dressing differently.

This is the person that was crowd funding for taxis to get them safely in and out of the house - and the subject of this tweet where a man asked 'can you imagine what it is like leaving your home in contact fear blah blah blah' and to which pretty much every woman responded 'Yes, yes we can. And nobody is crowd funding for taxis for us'.

YY. The dressing down that Butcher idiot got from women was truly magnificent.

terryleather · 05/11/2018 09:19

I'm lost for words so...

AngryAttackKittens · 05/11/2018 09:21

Well, Travis, I can most definitely say that that's not why I don't like you.

(She said, in an admirable display of self-restraint.)

MsBeaujangles · 05/11/2018 09:26

Would it be OK to hate a person if they weren't beautiful?
Is being beautiful a sufficient reason not to hate someone?

IRL, I have come across very few adults who hate anyone. Those who do experience feelings of hate, such feelings are not stimulated by the perceived beauty/ugliness of an individual.

There are few Americanism that I take to but one friend of mine talks about ugly behaviour. Since meeting her I think of ugly as good description of a characteristic rather than physical presentation.

BigotedWoman · 05/11/2018 09:26

It's a shame they didn't think of calling Sarah Brown in to the show to provide the burger pickles ...

Grin 🤢

Knicknackpaddyflak · 05/11/2018 09:47

Hmm. Demanding mental labour/service providing from random women discussing a public performance review on national media. And those demands no doubt came with menaces.

This entire discussion needs to be moved to the relationships board, but can probably be summarised as LTB. Mentally healthy, balanced people do not behave like this and it's not mentally healthy or balanced for a woman to indulge it.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/11/2018 09:49

I've been saying that both liberal feminism and the gay rights movement need to break up with TRAs for years.

My late Nan’s pronouns were we/we’m, as in ‘tek we to the shop’, or ‘we’m gooin up the bingo.’ Now I’m wondering if I should have used the plural they/them/their pronouns for them. Sorry Nan, I know you’re no longer with us but I hope you can forgive my bigotry.

FFSFFSFFS · 05/11/2018 10:18

Hi Travis (waves)

Males are excluded from spaces where women and girls undress because they (as a class) make (many) women and girls feel threatened and (many) women and girls don't like taking clothes off in front of men who they don't know.

Males who want to be in places where women and girls take their clothes off are pretty awful people - whether they wear lipstick or a dress is irrelevant to that.

It is more distressing for these women and girls then having a burger thrown at them.

Maybe you can incorporate that into your show?

Melanippe · 05/11/2018 10:50

If anyone does do a list of TRAs and their preferred for this week pronouns, please be aware that this will be posted all over Twitter as a "trans kill list" and an effort to "dox trans people".

Badstyley · 05/11/2018 11:14

They would never allow such a sticky. They’d say they were being singled out. Really it would just take all the fun out of it for them, because keeping us on our toes, guessing What to call them and punishing us when we step on a land mine is where the appeal lies. It’s a power thing. It’s like when I used to ask my ex what he wanted for tea and he’d say he didn’t mind, then whatever I prepared would be wrong and result in an evening of Nasty belittling comments. @MNHQ would get on like a house on fire with my ex.

Oh yes.

AnchorMum · 05/11/2018 11:53

Did Travis really have a burger thrown at they?

Or is they just weaponising mince-based products?

LangCleg · 05/11/2018 12:51

Whatever happened to ze and zir? Did they go out of fashion? What about all the innate essences of the ze and zir people? Are they in Gender Identity purgatory?

RiverTam · 05/11/2018 13:48

why the hell have I been deleted? I didn't say anything that isn't true or in the public domain, I didn't misgender Travis (who doesn't identify as female, btw).

FFSFFSFFS · 05/11/2018 14:04

Oh I can't remember what you said RiverTam?

This thread has me howling! They's website especially 🤣

I had the chance to watch them's work of staggering genius and heartbreaking beauty, but couldn't abide the thought of giving they a tenner.

Surely it's a matter of time before thee and thou make a come back?

And yes, I've had stuff shouted and thrown at me too... Once as a young skinny teenager wearing black leggings and DM boots standing at a bus stop, and a bloke shouted 'OI! GOLF CLUB!' at me, which is nearly as inventive as the Swan Vesta comment Grin

KatVonGulag · 05/11/2018 15:06

My pelvic floor is not up to this thread or the thought of Travis draping Travis's self over a skip for a photo shoot.
