I saw the matinee of #Burgerz by @travisalabanza yesterday and it feels so special to have been there. Part emotional release, part humorous romp, part ritual - retelling and reclaiming of trauma - it was flawlessly managed and controlled. Hats off! Such strength and beauty 💜

Hi Hebe - I was not aware that I had to google each time to check to make sure that I was being correctly submissive in making sure to refer to a man in the way he dictates.

But for sure - free speech to use common modes of speech - I've noted that this is not in accordance with mumsnet policy and will make sure to self censor myself.

This^ Seriously MN, do we really have to research everybody's pronouns before we can post. Or do you really insist we just use the individual's name or the horribly clumsy singular "they".

Is MNHQ really saying we must not use sexed pronouns as is customary in the English language because they might be wrong?

And if we do use the wrong pronouns, what actual harm does it cause?

Boggling at the pronoun thing. I can see why someone who identifies as female (in spite of biology) wants to called 'she'. But wanting to be called 'they'? Does this person identify as hermaphrodite or as multiple people?

Maybe we could crowdfund to go to see the show and then not actually go and see the show and go and get pissed somewhere instead. Because it sounds monumentally shit.

That had occurred to me too. It'd need to be some sort of widget whereby people could enter their current pronouns, and then if their name was posted anywhere it could autoenter there pronouns.

Maybe it'd be simpler for MNHQ to implement a pronoun filter though. Anytime anyone posted "he" "she" "him" "her" the site could auto replace it with asterisks?

I do find it quite entertaining that I can post "cunt" on MNHQ with no repercussions, but when I accidentally call a male "he" I get an official warning...

Maybe we need a sticky with the pronouns of the most prominent and likely to be discussed TRAs. In some cases those would need to be updated daily, so extra for whichever poor sod at MNHQ ends up with that job.
