University of Exeter
Bachelor’s Degree, Politics and International Relations
2012 – 2015

So no LLB. (Hons) eh Steph?
I can tell.
Not that I'm a snob or anything ( Your cod pseudo legals always give me a laugh, ta muchly).

Rosbif65 · 05/11/2018 22:53

In the words of David Cassidy, while he was still with the Partridge Family, I think I love you...

arranfan · 05/11/2018 22:59

My absolute favourite what with me never getting option of going to University

There is emphatically no bigotry dept. Some people thought about fund-raising for one as a spoof and making it the Spoof Bigotry and Grievance Studies Dept. but we need the funds for a particle collider.

Mumsnet Radicalisation Portals don't construct themselves you know. They require space, and knowledge, and all sorts of preparation. Think of them like massive centrifuges - they're built away from other buildings in fortress like structures for a reason ...

BreakWindandFire · 05/11/2018 23:01

It's nice that they let the paralegals harass women on the internet now, innit?

Yes, Steph is not a solicitor or barrister, which is most people's understanding of what a lawyer is in the UK. When this has been pointed out Steph has threatened to sue as 'lawyer' is not a protected term. Which is stupid. You might as well sue for someone saying that you are not a nutritionist or project manager!

SunsetBeetch · 05/11/2018 23:07

I've taken a screenshot, frazzled . Straight up trolling here.

Accomplished? They can barely string a sentence together!

Has he really been to medical school?

I think he's really the first AI bot to go rogue and just become a professional troll.

Needmoresleep · 05/11/2018 23:30

For a minute I thought he was describing Posey. She would be a better fit.

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 05/11/2018 23:35

I think he is jealous . Old haddock features wants to be a lady!!!

DeRigueurMortis · 06/11/2018 02:32

No - he doesn't want to be a lady.

He simply enjoys bullying women online, something I doubt he'd have the guts to do in real life.

I suspect he's someone who could benefit from a lot of counselling....

SunsetBeetch · 06/11/2018 07:08

I think he's attention seeking, because the writer of that article and Rachel McKinnon have been getting our attention lately.

stephLDS18 · 06/11/2018 07:15

Hate to break the news to you 'BirdseyeFrozen', yes I hold a qualifying law degree (2:1 actually) awarded by the University of London (all verifiable with Senate House btw). So guess that's the LLB (Hons) sorted hey?

"I can tell" (yep give me a laugh).

So, in pounds, shillings, and pence, that comment you published for a laugh from your echo chamber is well, erm, incorrect! Look forward to your apology (though I won't hold my breath).

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 06/11/2018 07:20

Harrop makes me laugh. Every time I read one of his lunatic tweets I see a short angry man who gets angrier and angrier because no one takes him seriously. Like a stubby Basil Fawlty but without the humour.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 06/11/2018 07:21

I have an LLM from the University of London. I studied international public law as part of my PhD so I decided to do an LLM for fun.

calpop · 06/11/2018 07:47

Are you actually employed as a Lawyer though?

I've got a degree in Chemistry but I dont call myself a Chemist as i havent been in a lab for years and do a completely unrelated job. I also have friends who did the LLB and then couldn't get a training contract, its not easy, I know.

SunsetBeetch · 06/11/2018 08:02

I wonder why he hasn't included women...

DereksSexyPyjamas · 06/11/2018 08:03

I always lol at the claim that Mumsnet is an echo chamber. It’s pure projection.

It’s Twitter that’s the echo chamber, with Terf Blocker and organised mass reporting and shitty algorithms. And even despite that most threads I see on Twitter are strongly GC.

Mumsnet is the exact opposite of an echo chamber, with debate encouraged. But there is no rational reasoned debate coming from the TRA side. If there was we would have seen it by now. All the arguments boil down to ‘women, shut up and be nice’. And, nah, fuck that.

DereksSexyPyjamas · 06/11/2018 08:05

But hey, I guess ‘you’re an echo chamber!’ is a handy get out clause if you’re utterly incapable of reasonable, rational debate.

BirdseyeFrozen · 06/11/2018 08:31

HaHa Steph!

Hilarious!

KatVonGulag · 06/11/2018 08:45

Law degree doesn't equal lawyer.

Have a torte Steph

What I like about mumsnet is you can't block people, least I don't think you can. I think that's good.

So why do you think burning effigies of people (that you don't agree with) is acceptable? I think that's a bit weird.

Ereshkigal · 06/11/2018 09:29

But hey, I guess ‘you’re an echo chamber!’ is a handy get out clause if you’re utterly incapable of reasonable, rational debate.

Indeed.

BreakWindandFire · 06/11/2018 09:45

Yes, your LLB is a qualifying degree but have you actually gone on and qualified (ie done the LPC or BPTC and completed a training contract or pupillage. Or done the CILEX and qualifying employment route)?

ToeToToe · 06/11/2018 10:19

What I like about mumsnet is you can't block people

That's why the TAs rarely venture onto Mumsnet. They can't abuse us (they get deleted and banned) and they can't block us.

Their arguments don't hold up to scrutiny, and so they scuttle back to Twitter to abuse us from there.

BirdseyeFrozen · 06/11/2018 10:50

There is a sinister rash, in the last couple of years or so, of people purporting to be "trans champions". The Haydens, Harrop's, Greens (HHG's), et al, parachute themselves into the media, claiming to support Trans people's personal struggles. In reality, what I see, is self promotion and pound signs. Saves oneself from working too hard in an overstretched NHS for example, doesn't it Adrian?

I've been involved in Human Rights issues for over half a century. I'm very well known and well respected, in 3D, where it matters. I don't feel obliged to constantly tweet about it to the Lost by way of self centred aggrandisement.

Shouting down women who question their intent, making vexatious complaints and doxing parents with children, inciting violence against them and their families is so much safer than being on, say, a Red Watch list, back in the day.

These HHGs have no idea what a real struggle is. Hardly the Battle of Cable Street, this stuff, from the new Ovalteenies is it? They will never match the work of others genuinely fighting for those without a voice.

I've worked/work/campaigned pro bono, because I and others cared, and made a real difference. We had the privilege to meet, and help, incredible people of courage.

I post here, as a consequence of the manipulative, unpleasant, misogynistic, violence - inciting self promoters, purporting to be the voice of trans people. Shame on you, standing on the backs of trans people, at the expense of the hard won rights of Women and Girls.

That is not effective, meaningful change in this Society. It IS how you make money, by pushing yourself forward as a cod "consultant". We see it clearly for what it is.To stand up for Right, you speak up in a way that improves the quality of EVERYONE's life.

Someone applying for a GRC, eventually, gets to be "considered" by an anonymous panel meeting in secret. A panel who never meets the individual, and yet has the power to make life changing decisions about their future. Instead of speaking up and ( rightly) challenging this, the HHG's shout for self id without safeguards, and point the finger of misogynistic hate at those who question.

HHG's wrap around their shoulders a cloak of the unwell, the genuinely struggling, the Mad ( political capital M usage there Stepho, please note), the naïve and earnest, the disenfranchised, and fellow traveller opportunists.

( any typo's, live with it, I've got a lot on today)
.

Great post Birdseye 💪💪

BirdseyeFrozen · 06/11/2018 12:15

So Doctor Adrian Anthony Harrop is standing up for " disabled people " (sic.)

Adrian, you really are an arse, that is such an offensive term to use about us. Literal violence even.

We are people first and foremost, who HAPPEN to have a disability. We aren't disabled as human beings.
Page 1 stuff for medical professionals. You must have been busy tweeting abuse that seminar, l tsk tsk shame on you yet again, you disabilist eejit. You can't even get the language right.

A bit of reading on the subject for the "oh so woke not so very educated on real life", HHGs.
