Rule 12 used infrequently:
"All provisional enquiry decisions can be reviewed under the GMC’s Rule 12 process. The GMC told us that out of 616 provisional enquiry cases in 2016, 27 Rule 12 requests had been received. Out of these requests, two reviews were undertaken, of which one ended in a decision to reopen the case due to a material flaw in that relevant information had not been fully considered by the original decision maker."

Has Helen Webberley ever been sentenced yet? Wonder if there's a link to this review?

hellandhairnets · 27/11/2018 13:06

Excellent, good news that they seem to be taking it forward.

Iused2BanOptimist · 27/11/2018 13:09

Very interesting. I wonder if they will take a wider look at his work or confine themselves to the specific complaints ie his twitter behaviour. Because I have a screenshot somewhere of him advertising his appointment times which I assume must be for private practice as an NHS trainee GP would not do this. In the light of the investigation into his friends the Webberleys this could have ramifications.

Iused2BanOptimist · 27/11/2018 13:26

Found it.

Has Helen Webberley ever been sentenced yet? Sentencing was supposed to take place on 2 November. Maybe Farter Cruck are on the case?

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/11/2018 14:21

@JSoosty may be interested in the latest developments

Flooffloof · 27/11/2018 15:21

I got the letter today. Am going to respond to it but I am a bit short on time and I think it has to be replied to by 12th December. Actually could not come at a worse time for me.
So I will shuffle stuff around and get cracking and if I have a decent reply ready by the weekend, I will send it off. If not then it will have to be late or not go.
Ffs I put my complaint in months ago. Why do they take their sweet time responding then ask me for such a quick turn around.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 27/11/2018 16:29

Interesting Melamin. Sentencing was delyaed becuase she was going to the trans conference in Argentina. She must be back by now. Bit of an odd reason to delay the law being carried out anyway. Curiouser and curiouser

Melamin · 27/11/2018 21:00

Yes, it is curious. It sort of reminded me of Jess's suspension that was supposed to be sorted with a hearing or something within 28 days and has been pushed under a rug somewhere. Some lawyers seem to be able to make things fizzle out...…………………...

Katvonblackdeath · 27/11/2018 21:04

I can understand why they'd want to bury Jess's behaviour

Ereshkigal · 27/11/2018 22:53

YY. Why should anyone give a fuck that she was going to a trans conference, or any other event?

teawamutu · 28/11/2018 08:21

Wrt the evidence request for Dr Haddock, do they want screenshots etc - purely factual - or how it made you feel?

LurkingWaspi · 28/11/2018 08:41

Interesting to note that the GMC letter to Kirsten ( screenshot upthread) now states that they will not pass on personal details to Dr. Harrop.

I've seen a fair few comments on here from women who wanted to put in complaints, but were worried that, because of his nasty behaviour they or their families would be at risk.

teawamutu · 28/11/2018 09:16

To be afraid of that, with good reason, is a powerful piece of evidence on fitness to be a doctor by itself IMO.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 28/11/2018 09:37

I’d honestly be surprised if he carried on his training after all this.

Flooffloof · 28/11/2018 12:10

My letter asks for any further information I would like them to consider.

Tbf I have til 21st Dec. It can be done but I need time to pull stuff together.
I also don't have to send anything but I am aware that if I don't and he gets away with his shit, I will be doing women a disservice. I could not forgive myself.
If some one already has something that I could crib off, or any of you would like anything in particular adding, let me know on here or pm.
I will put it up here before sending.

uglyandlovingit · 28/11/2018 13:13

If he loses his job, can he still use his "dr" title? He will be mortified if he has to give that up!

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 15:39

Health Inspectorate Wales updated their statement to say now December 2nd.
I think Dr Webberly may have been away at WPATH conference in Argentina the week it was origninally scheduled.

updated statement:
"HIW has today successfully prosecuted Online GP Services Ltd and Dr Helen Webberley for illegally providing online healthcare services which require registration under the Care Standards Act 2000

The prosecution follows a period in which Dr Webberley had refused to stop providing services to patients. As a result, HIW proceeded with criminal action against Online GP Services Ltd and Dr Webberley for operating a service without being registered under Section 11 of the Care Standards Act 2000.

Both Online GP Services Ltd and Dr Webberley were found guilty at Merthyr Magistrates court today. Sentencing will take place on 3 December 2018.

Chief Executive Dr Kate Chamberlain said today:

I welcome the decision of the court today. Unregistered healthcare services pose a risk to patient safety as they are not subject to the same level of scrutiny as registered services. HIW’s role is to check that patients receive good care and we are committed to taking action where standards are not met and against those who provide services illegally. I am pleased that we have done so successfully in this case."

apologies for confusion, my comment is wrong, hope it makes clear that it was deferred to 3rd December

Iused2BanOptimist do you have a link to or wider screenshot of the tweet above re private appointments?

Many will recognise both Joss Prior and Hetty Spoon as active twitter TRAs.

I've never seen a GP (let alone a trainee GP) hawking private appointments like that.

That's also rather hypocritical of Liam Hackett given his traetment of Professor Kathleen Stock and other women earlier this year.

The lack of self awareness is extraordinary isn't it?
Rowan I don't have a link to the tweets but I can repost the screenshots. I've noticed for some reason if the screen shot is on my iPad and I post from my phone sometimes it seems a bit blurred. I'll repost tomorrow as I have used my limit today.
