I’m not sure that post will stay, what with ‘deadnaming’ and all, but it links to judgement from 2002 denying an appeal relating to a violent offence committed in 1999.

Also, is it deadnaming when everyone already knows they went by a prior name? I can understand a transgender person who isn't "out" as being transgender being distressed at being publicly linked to a previous name but if it's common knowledge, isn't it just a way of hiding your past? I don't understand what the impact of deadnaming someone who is openly trans would have (this may well be a reflection on my lack of imagination!)

Knowing much about this person's history, I can confirm it is indeed Ms Hayden of Lolsuit fame.

Ms Hayden denied accusations she behaved like a troll. She said: “I tweet under my own name and I am accountable for my actions. It is a matter of public record that I was born ‘Anthony Halliday’. My name was changed lawfully in 2005 to ‘Steven Hayden’. There is no legal prohibition on maintaining two identities. There is no legal requirement for any lawyer to be registered with a professional body unless carrying out reserved activities under their own name. I no longer routinely carry out any reserved activities.

Some details do seem to agree on previous names and year/month of birth available online. That’s an incredibly unsavoury past if it’s true.

What, so the 'lawyer' is a SO? Thats what indecent assault means doesnt it? in their previous identity? And they hit someone across the back of the head with a golf club over a parking dispute? That is shocking, if true.

Gosh what a charmer. And born in 73 so really old enough to know better. I had assumed they were younger.

It's almost as if a person, wishing to hide their past and start afresh, stumbled upon transition as a suitable vehicle to do so.
