An asylum seeker pupil at a school in Ipswich is being investigated after claims he is in his 30s. Maybe he is trans age? If he identifies as a teenager then we should respect that and treat him as such, right?

That link is interesting Olenna, it also states that David TC Davies is angry at fathers who don't financially support their kids and advocates for them to be dealt with far more forcefully. And that the Guardian is using this as an argument AGAINST him. Bizarre.

A friend of mine is an Educational Psychologist working with asylum seekers. He assesses boys and men who are claiming to be minors and says he finds the majority to be adults. Adults in desperate circumstances.

Yes, a charity called TACT Foster & Adopt did claim on Twitter that the clearly middle-aged "child refugee" in the blue hoodie widely pictured in the press was actually an interpreter for the Home Office. But when the HO denied this, the Tweet had to be deleted, though not before it had been re-tweeted a bunch of times by others, including the BBC. The guy in the blue hoodie with the crows feet & flecks of gray was indeed passed off as a "unaccompanied child refugee" from Calais.

We don't like to think of strapping, full-grown men trampling over & pushing aside vulnerable children (& women) so they can get to the front of the line & pretend to be underage orphans themselves. But it happens all the time. And because they're men, they're given the benefit of the doubt.

So the parents claimed that a man posing as a boy was a thread to their children. Where was the outcry about that statement? Yet if we say a man posing as a woman can be a threat to our children, we are pilloried for it. I wonder why...

Furthermore, something most people don't realise, is that perpetrators of war crimes are as likely to seek and be granted asylum as their victims, so you have all these poor sods having to keep looking back over their shoulder in case they bump into one of them. It is hardly 'asylum' if the problems follow you to where you are supposed to be safe.
