Lewis was a weird choice, would have been better to have a parent of or a teen who had experienced ROGD.

Lewis is a prominant TRA.
He, with Fox & Owl are often put forward to comment.

I missed Lewis but I thought the studio discussion was good. JG handled it well. It is the first time I have heard the statistics in children with autism discussed properly and then agreed that they were accurate. I can't stress enough how much I admire the GC women who have just kept plugging away.

I'm pleased to say that my prediction was well off the mark. That was much better than I expected although I was surprised at PC being noticeably dismissive and remote. I realise that will be down, at least partially, to her professional role. But at the end of the discussion I felt I had less confidence in GIDS.

I wonder how much Dr Carmichael has been affected by the current pressures by some parents, TRAs and others in the transgender community?

It is (as can be seen by the comments on the twitter thread) a source of contention that Stephanie Davies Arai was interviewed.

There are many familiar accounts commenting there who continue to describe Transgender Trend as a 'hate group' promoting 'conversion therapy'

Tavistock has a core esponsibility to its patients, in this case the children and young people it is treating.

I imagine Dr Carmichael's might be a challenging position to hold at this time.

Sometimes laughter reveals more than finding something amusing.

Yes, I tried to express some of that nuance in my post. It might be that PC's approach is the only workable one in the current climate. My disquiet is down to her perhaps being so "don't rock the boat" that I wonder whether she's more a hostage than a leader in her role.

Yes, there are powerful and influential lobbyists.
