Famous undeclared GC people?

Who do you think might be gender critical on the quiet? David Baddiel has just posted something about polyamory on a twitter thread about the doxxing of a GC uni professor. I think he must see this is all Pomo nonsense. Obviously we have Graham Linehan who’s been a compete star.

But are so many other intelligent, critically thinking famous people out there, especially the comedians, there must surely be some who are desperate to call out TRA bullshit. Where are they all hiding?

Believe me, there are plenty of quiet TRA who about their business not announcing themselves, but are changing the wording on policy documents, tweaking algorithms, shoving Stonewall emails to the top of the pile, having friendly coffees with diversity heads. It worked for them for a decade and it's still going on.

I agree about MPs, and particularly the Cabinet Ministers James Kirkup writes about.

I appreciate it when a celeb speaks out and I sometimes get frustrated when they drop hints but won’t commit. But ultimately it’s not their job.

Charliethefeminist but they wouldn't work behind the scenes if this was any other form of bigotry. They'll happily condemn racism, able-ism, homophobia, Islamophobia. They'll condemn bullying and animal cruelty. But when it comes to misogyny they have to work behind the scenes and, to all intents and purpose, actively support the perpetrators of the bigotry. Their silence is a major reason the MRAs have achieved such high profiles, and why their agenda has become so mainstream. They would not have allowed this to happen with the EDL.

With a few notable exceptions they are cowardly, self-serving arseholes.

Charliethefeminist · 01/11/2018 08:49

Yes I agree with all that tbh

Charliethefeminist · 01/11/2018 08:49

It's a very good analogy you have drawn

Barry Humphries has been "out and proud" about this for years. He has been verbally abused for it in public a few times, but has said that his conscience won't let him keep quiet about it. :)

A lot of comedians in this list. Seems that their way of looking at the world critically, challenging authority and pointing out absurdities means that they're only a short step away from being GCers.

Bill Maher is on his way - he’s gone from supporting bathroom bills to saying now that TWAW we need a new name for actual women (he suggests ‘woman: classic’) in his most recent recorded stand up show.

He also denounced contemporary pornography (calling it ‘rapey’ in his most recent chatshow) - he’s a mere TRA telling off from going full on swerf & terf, I reckon.

Clare Fox is, shall we say, trans-sceptical.

Sexnotgender · 05/11/2018 16:50

Safe to say India Knight is sceptical!

Not a celebrity as such, but labour peer Lord Lewis Moonie is out and out GC. Constantly retweets GC accounts and is pretty forthright in his views. Here's him tweeting about Rachel McKinnon and also Harrop.

Yes Lewis Moonie is really going for it Grin. He is cool.

I wonder what it is about the men who get it and then get energised. Like Glinner and Lewis. What tipped them over (and where are all the others?)
