Yeah I know - I shouldn't have left a comment, but I couldn't help myself...

Can't bear to watch it all the long way through but the first 2 mons are mind numbingly bleurgh.

MagicMix · 20/10/2018 21:40

The comments now are 100% positive. If you left a comment that wasn't positive, they are censoring their comment section. This is unsurprising.

WatchThePotatoesBoil · 20/10/2018 21:53

Hmmm - it shows up on my account - weird.

I've had to put my phone down, the stupid from our favourite woodland animals was actually dribbling off the screen and down my wrist. Although I did enjoy them reading out obvious humour and responding as though it was a serious post, while smirking over the 'fact' that none of us have any contact with any trans people in real life.

The doubling down on being able to ignore the Samaritans guidelines was pretty painful, tbh, and I did have a chuckle at the irony of Owl mocking someone's ability to construct a sentence.

MagicMix · 20/10/2018 22:11

I can only see fawning. My favourite comment is: "I joined and was a member for maybe a month before I realised I'm just too chill to be on mumsnet" Grin

SPOFS · 20/10/2018 22:24

Those two are almost so bad that they're good, but not quite.

BrickByBrick · 20/10/2018 22:29

No idea what any of you are talking about, after all no one on MN will see their video. Grin

LassWiADelicateAir · 20/10/2018 22:53

Message from Fox and Owl

We hope you enjoy this reactionary video

To paraphrase Inigo Montoya "I do not think that word means what you think it means."

AngryAttackKittens · 20/10/2018 22:54

And yet it was still an ideal word to describe that video, albeit unintentionally.

Bowlofbabelfish · 20/10/2018 22:55

and I did have a chuckle at the irony of Owl mocking someone's ability to construct a sentence.

Every time I read something by owl I want to get my red pen out and proof it. It’s dreadfully written.

AngryAttackKittens · 20/10/2018 22:56

And no, it's not because Owl is Icelandic. Owl's English is fine. Owl's thinking is, well, let's just say "muddled" to be kind.

nauticant · 20/10/2018 22:57

Obviously I'm not going to give F&O a youtube click, but did they actually say/write that their video is reactionary?

There's also the small point of them objecting to other explanations for the behaviour portrayed onscreen because it's 'fiction' while also being terribly earnest about portrayals of self harm and other things because 'that's the reality for trans'.

I know I'm not watching them for logical consistency, but, you know, these things stand out.

Those crazy reactionaries.

LorettasBox · 20/10/2018 23:03

Oh yes, I did notice with raised eyebrow that Owl made much of the wealth of available statistics about trans suicide and thought "Hmm, you're really not the authority on handling data well, though, ducky."

OldCrone · 20/10/2018 23:04

Owl says that nobody ever said that putting on a dress makes you a woman. Someone should introduce Owl to Pips Bunce.

LassWiADelicateAir · 20/10/2018 23:04

Oh I agree but that point will sail over their heads.

leeloo1 · 20/10/2018 23:06

Awww there was movement part way through and I was hoping it was the cute cat from their other video. Sadly it was just a dog's bottom coming into shot as it got bored and left. :(

I thought their point about children being able to choose from a range of uniform was a valid one though, albeit I'm sure it's not unique to them.

IKeepFlouncing · 20/10/2018 23:07

Meh I stopped watching it once starting the fawning about Mermaids started.

Hello there are many other sub section to mumsnet, woman do discuss other things like their kids etc.

Makes me laugh they hate us, don’t respect our opinion believe we are of no valve yet pretty fucking obbessed.

Arh they must be chomping at the bits that they not being able to take over mumsnet with their transcult bullshit!

🖕🏻

IKeepFlouncing · 20/10/2018 23:13

I can’t see no comments but I was allowed to give it 👎🏻

Butterfly is fictional... oh dear don’t upset transcult that believe it’s 100% true just like transwomen with penis are women

OldCrone · 20/10/2018 23:17

Fox doesn't understand why walloping a little boy when he wears a skirt and dances might make the little boy want to be a girl.

LorettasBox · 20/10/2018 23:21

Yeah, there was an awful lot of frowny-faced "I don't understand that comment" stuff, and to be perfectly honest, I believe that they didn't understand at all.

Sometimes there is disingenuousness, but other times I think they simply are either too dim to follow the point someone is making, or their cognitive processes have been too painfully warped by their peculiar worldview to comprehend.

Budgieinaberet · 20/10/2018 23:22

I'm too fucking lazy to watch that shit.

But I would like to say is it pisses me right off when people say Obviously you have never met a trans person.

Well yes I used to supervise a TP at work, over 30 years ago, and there wasn't any problems for anyone.

TRAs however are a different issue

OldCrone · 20/10/2018 23:25

It's quite odd that they agree with those of us who think gender stereotyping is bad, but their solution requires changing the body to fit the mind, rather than just accepting that everyone is different and that we should all be able to be ourselves without changing our bodies.

But now I've seen that they describe themselves as reactionary, it makes a bit more sense.

WatchThePotatoesBoil · 20/10/2018 23:26

Well, I've just delete my "invisible" comment. Decided I've got better things to do.

But yes, you were right - there was a comment made after mine that got published no problem. There was probably a word or two in my comment that triggered some algorithm to stick it in a queue for manual moderation.

Probably a good thing - not a good use of my time...
