Hi,

I posted at letter I wrote to Judith Blake after the cancelled WPUK meeting in Leeds a couple of weeks ago.

No reply from Leeds City Council (surprise!) but the Yorkshire Evening post, who covered the original cancellation, asked me to write an opinion piece.

Is that a typo in the headline?

TwistedStitch · 17/10/2018 13:51

That's brilliant OP, well done.

Flowers That article was the perfect balance between describing why Leeds City Council acted perversely and a personal account of how the GRA reforms are cruel and heighten the risk to women.

Thank you Yorkshire Post, for helping your readers to gain some insight into why the GRA reforms are contentious.

I found the article moving.

If I were a Labour councillor, I would squirm in my seat and hold my head in my hands when a woman speaks so eloquently and from personal experience.

Thank you for going public. It can't have been easy. Flowers

PegasusRex · 17/10/2018 15:34

oh thank you Smile

My actual job is about as far away from writing/ journalism as it's possible to get! I was worried I wouldn't do it justice so I'm glad it turned out ok.

Brilliant, well done

Great article, you should be very proud of yourself. By being so honest you have given our concerns a human "face", which is always harder to counter. Harder to use shitty sound bites when it's a real person talking about their experiences.

MrsDarcyIwish · 17/10/2018 17:23

Well done, and thank you for being so brave.

Well done. That took some guts to talk about what happened to you. So thanks for putting your head above the parapet! Flowers
