Just some light amusement. At least the guardian admit the vulva is the external FEMALE organ, or is that literal violence??!?

Shame it's real fur though.

Twitter users were quick to point out the peachy-pink, fur-trimmed scarf’s resemblance to female genitals

Transphobia! Don't the guardian know some men have vulvas too?

Trousered · 15/10/2018 16:34

I want one. I imaging there will be a lot left come sale time.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 15/10/2018 16:52

We should crowdfund a few hundred for next year's Women's March

I do wonder if there might be a middle ground between being ashamed of your vulva and wearing a giant replica of it around your neck.

Its a square scarf with fur diagonally across the middle, easy to make, a lot cheaper . I really, really want one now.

They are still showing other colours.

The start of the muff movement.

Love the fact (or do I ? ) that the Guardian closed their comments after only 21 comments Grin

Ekphrasis · 16/10/2018 07:55

Ha not surprised though after reading them...

It's hard enough to arrange a scarf stylishly but one with fur across the middle? Way too much of a challenge. Whatever look you are trying to achieve.

BruceAndNosh · 16/10/2018 08:09

You'd feel like a twat wearing that

Actually you'd LOOK like a twat

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/10/2018 11:18

Has anyone else had the privilege of seeing Judy Chicago's 'The Dinner Party'?

ElenOfTheWays · 16/10/2018 11:24

Today's outfit then.
Pussy hat, vulva scarf and adult human female T shirt.

Do you think I may be trying to make a point? Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/10/2018 11:26

:)

Actually, if you haven't seen The Dinner Party you can do so here

It is all a bit 'cultural feminist' but seeing it 'live' was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It is totally and utterly beautiful and very, very powerful.

Tinty · 16/10/2018 11:30

Genuine question, why would anyone be ashamed of their vulva?, it is pretty inoffensive as far as I am aware.

Cwenthryth · 16/10/2018 17:37

It was a quote from the article, Tinty.

Surely you’re aware that historically there has been a social stigma and many women are made to feel that vulvas are dirty and disgusting and to be ashamed of and not spoken about. There’s a whole industry geared around selling us unneccessary perfumed crap to ‘freshen’ it and mask how awful we’re told it smells etc.

LassWiADelicateAir · 16/10/2018 18:01

The truly offensive thing about this is it is trimmed with silver fox fur.

I would have the same contempt for anyone who buys this as I have for men who use prostitutes. And I don't care if that offends anyone- anyone buying this is despicable.

I'm a bit disappointed that everything has to be turned into a trans issue.

Cwenthryth · 16/10/2018 19:32

How is it a trans issue Lass?

LassWiADelicateAir · 16/10/2018 19:38

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 16/10/2018 19:39

cor blimey lass, you're literally the first person on here to mention trans stuff.

it was a nice change of pace until you rocked up!

LassWiADelicateAir · 16/10/2018 19:44

cor blimey lass, you're literally the first person on here to mention trans stuff

Er no. I was not. The second post did.

The OP's "literal violence" comment is presumably referring to it as well, as is the cooment about wearing it with an adult human female t- shirt.

Ekphrasis · 16/10/2018 20:27

Lass, it was in the guardian.

I was amused by the garment (fur aside, definitely not amused by that as I said) thought it similar to the pussy hats (didn't need to say that) and furthermore felt it was ironic that it was in the guardian, for whom shon "woman is a shifting constellation" and wrong side of history LOJ both write for.

Cwenthryth · 16/10/2018 20:34

C’mon Lass stop pissing on everyone’s chips. It was a funny thread about a ridiculously overpriced bit of knitwear that looks like genitals, FFS. Humourous references to the shit we deal with all the bloody time. A bit of light relief. And you’re disappointed. Ah well.
