MsBeaujangles · 15/10/2018 10:28

The consultation is going to be discussed tomorrow on Women's Hour. They are asking for our views!

Emailed and forwarded to my MP with a reminder of tomorrow’s meeting at the HOC.

borntobequiet · 15/10/2018 11:58

The contact form is crap, use regular email.

Mamamanatee · 15/10/2018 11:59

It will be absolutely awful. If there is a single dissenting voice that isn't made to sound like a far right bigot I will be amazed.

There will be strong undercurrent of 'women be NICE and KIND to these poor people'.

I won't be listening.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/10/2018 12:05

If they set it up to be an awful biased anti-woman shitshow, they will know that they will be deluged with letters and complaints, surely?

Mamamanatee · 15/10/2018 12:07

I don't think that they give a shit about that.

RiverTam · 15/10/2018 12:11

comment sent.

borntobequiet · 15/10/2018 12:20

What an extraordinary position to take about something one cares about “don’t bother to say anything, no one will listen”. On two separate threads!
I might almost think there was an agenda here.

Mamamanatee · 15/10/2018 12:32

oh don't be silly.

I have emailed in fact but I just know what its going to be like.

I hope I'm wrong!

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 15/10/2018 12:37

I don’t have the clarity of point to write in/speak but will be supporting from the sidelines.

borntobequiet · 15/10/2018 12:38

Pleased to hear you overcame your doubts about it being useful.

borntobequiet · 15/10/2018 12:42

You don’t have to say a lot, Rain. Just “I am particularly concerned about because . You can then just list other things without expanding on them, someone else will do that at some point.

RiverTam · 15/10/2018 12:43

they're only going to read out snippets and soundbites so just be short, punchy and to the point! No need to write the essay that I'm sure we all could if we got on a roll!

happydappy2 · 15/10/2018 13:06

Emailed in, anyone know which actual women have been invited on the show?

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/10/2018 13:06

I've just done a short email, I just stuck to sport.
I don't see how anyone can agree that it's fair to have TW competing with women.

MsBeaujangles · 15/10/2018 13:14

It is interesting that the show is taking place at the exact same time as Womans Place UK and Fair Play For Women are having their meeting at the House of Commons. This will mean that nobody from these organisations will be able to take part in any discussion.

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/10/2018 13:14

Now I wish I'd written about free speech.
And media coverage of Transwomen
Who are always brave and stunning
Even when they are not

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/10/2018 13:15

Mrs B you are right

Artesia · 15/10/2018 13:15

I have sent a short factual email focussing on how women’s voices have been silenced on this issue- in real life (WPUK meetings targeted), online, in parliament and by all the political parties

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/10/2018 13:16

Couldn't we nominate Datun ?

Charliethefeminist · 15/10/2018 13:16

Yes, it will be a shitshow. They are too scared to do anything except be unbalanced in favour of transactivism. Whatever they do, it won't be balanced, and the imbalance will not be towards feminism. They will definitely not ever do a challenging interview with a trans person.

ContessasGulagSpaDay · 15/10/2018 13:16

Fab, have emailed!

I talked about how I won't be able to tell if the other person in the changing room is a transwoman who wants to try on a dress in peace or a heterosexual self-identified male who has a prurient interest in seeing women undressing, if self-ID goes through. Therefore I won't use the facilities anymore and will have to return stuff I buy if it doesn't fit. Why should I have to?

horizonglimmer · 15/10/2018 13:19

I emailed pointing out that a move from sex segregation to gender segregation has led to women and girls being sexually abused. Because it has.

NoSquirrels · 15/10/2018 13:42

Done. Longer and rantier than I intended, but focusing on the fact that the law is not broken as it stands (medical proof of disphoria, etc) as we require proofs for e.g. disability in order to access benefits and in no other area of the law do we accept self-identity as the defining factor.

Also safeguarding of children in particular e.g. GirlGuides and silencing of debate.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/10/2018 13:47

I think it will be a stitch-up. Sadly.

Charliethefeminist · 15/10/2018 14:01

Yes total stitch up
