The consultation is going to be discussed tomorrow on Women's Hour. They are asking for our views!

OP posts:
IHateHouseworkWithAPassion · 16/10/2018 10:44

This was totally unbalanced in favour of trans speakers

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 16/10/2018 10:44

Why are they peddling this lie about the EA?

Tediousnamechange · 16/10/2018 10:44

Going to have to listen to pod cast

OunceOfFlounce · 16/10/2018 10:44

I think a lot of listeners will surely find the dodging of real issues by non-gc voices very frustrating and suspicious.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 16/10/2018 10:45

Jane Garvie did a good job of balancing the BBC party line and common sense.

Well done on getting the 4k% increase in the last few seconds, Nic.

whyisthecakealwaysgone · 16/10/2018 10:45

"Over the coming weeks"

So, after the consultation has ended then?

What fucking use is that?

JoanSummers · 16/10/2018 10:45

You can help kids by explaining to them what sexism is and that they don't need to (and shouldnt) force themselves to fit stereotypes.

It's not helpful to tell them they can just play make believe for the rest of theit life.

Miladymilord · 16/10/2018 10:45

nice segue to violence against women

Well bloody hell. I can't quite believe what I just heard. Is it too early for gin?

  • "Over the coming weeks"

So, after the consultation has ended then?

What fucking use is that?*

Exactly.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 16/10/2018 10:46

That was disgraceful.

ILuvBirdsEye · 16/10/2018 10:46

Was that Nicola with the last word on the 4000% increase of girls identifying as Trans?

More to come in further weeks on 'Womens hour' on this apparently.

Tediousnamechange · 16/10/2018 10:46

Presumably the consultation is linked on twitter? By FairPlay?

AbsintheFriends · 16/10/2018 10:46

Well, IN SPITE of the odds being so vastly stacked against and the pro commenters being given more airtime than Nic and Debbie, they were massively more clear, persuasive and impressive.

Jane Garvey did well, while obviously having her hands tied.

StuntNun · 16/10/2018 10:46

Well done Nicola and Debbie.

JoanSummers · 16/10/2018 10:46

Exactly what I thought.

Giggorata · 16/10/2018 10:46

She cut Nic off again.... I hope the podcast is less one-sided.

happydappy2 · 16/10/2018 10:46

if only that hour could have been about WOMEN & how this affects hospitals, rape refuges, sports FFS

Velella · 16/10/2018 10:48

Well for the average listener who knows nothing about this, I fear that their takeaway will be that it's nothing to worry about. Sorry.

calpop · 16/10/2018 10:48

Can someone post the links to the consultation and advixe on how to fill out for my colleagues please.

ILuvBirdsEye · 16/10/2018 10:48

Nic speaks so well. Nice and clear... no waffle.

papayasareyum · 16/10/2018 10:49

her last comment about girls wanting to be boys really resonated with me. Amongst my children’s friends, I know of five (!!) girls who between the age of 12-17, announced they were non binary or male. They’re older now and all of them have dropped their non binary/male identities and come out as gay, with the exception of one who now identifies as a straight woman. I ask the same question which Nicola asked at the end “what’s wrong with girls being girls?”

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/10/2018 10:49

I'm imagining Jenni Murray tied up in a corner, gagged and handcuffed making 'OOOOOMMPPPPPHHH' and "MNNNNNNNOOOOOOO" noises.

CriticalCondition · 16/10/2018 10:49
