The article even comes with a trigger warning for transphobia:

www.studentnewspaper.org/ann-henderson-triggers-controversy-over-transphobic-twitter-support/

OP posts:
UpstartCrow · 12/10/2018 01:24

Goody Henderson has been seen affirmatively responding to tweets by transphobic organisations!

ShcfG · 12/10/2018 01:42

Burn her!!!! Burn her with fire!!!!!

(I think that's how it goes, isn't it? Identify a woman who is not womaning correctly, and not properly deferential to MRA and TRA sentiments, and then make an example of her?)

FFS.

PositivelyPERF · 12/10/2018 01:46

What s bunch of bullying, whining little gits.

trumptrump · 12/10/2018 01:47

That's Magdalen Berns' old uni. Didn't she get kicked out of their LGBT group or something when she was there?

PositivelyPERF · 12/10/2018 01:54

I can’t find her retweet. Did she take it down?

Fallingirl · 12/10/2018 02:01

Jeez. Everytime anyone sees the word “transphobic”, they should substitute with the phrase “supportive of women’s rights”, just to make it clear what is going on, and who is being bigoted.

FlowerpotFairyHouse · 12/10/2018 04:57

Woman - guilty of not agreeing with men.

KatVonGulag · 12/10/2018 06:26

I need a trigger warning for pathetic students

HandsOffMyRights · 12/10/2018 06:31

Is it too much to expect the adults to step up? For the VC and co to stop the nomsense that is consuming this mob of mini Owen Jones' who don't know any better (the adults should)?

Edinburgh seems to be deep in woke cookies at the moment. I'm really bothered by yet another move to silence a woman and remove her from a job that she does well. Come on adults, show some sense!

Maybe it will peak JK Rowling?

AngryAttackKittens · 12/10/2018 06:35

Ann Henderson, Rector of the University of Edinburgh, has been seen affirmatively responding to tweets by transphobic organisations.

Firstly, who does your copy editing you silly wee sods?

Secondly, was this intended to sound sinister? Because it reads like the first page of a dystopian novel. Next step, brain scans to check for thoughtcrime.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 12/10/2018 06:36

Read the comments. 100% critical of the article at present.

LizzieSiddal · 12/10/2018 06:37

Love the comments on the article.

Great responses under the article, though!

SophoclesTheFox · 12/10/2018 06:51

The comments are very heartening, at least.

I want to go HULKRAGESMASH at the mealy mouthed "content warning: transphobia" at the head of the article. Where is the "transphobia"? Mentioning Fair Play for Women? Women existing and having opinions?

WHEN DID WE GET SO FUCKING FRAGILE ABOUT WORDS ON A PAGE??? Grow the fuck up, EUSA.

qumquat · 12/10/2018 07:05

I skipped the article and just read the comments. Much better for the blood pressure!

Poppyred85 · 12/10/2018 07:17

I love that someone has commented under the name Aimee Challenor...

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 12/10/2018 07:20

I'm embarrassed to be a student Blush

Ifonlyus · 12/10/2018 07:23

Hopefully these kinds of articles and toddler-like tantrums act as an own goal. Anyone with an ounce on intelligence who reads the article and then the articulate conments will see the SU's position for the nonsense it is.

MsMcWoodle · 12/10/2018 07:28

I loved this one:
"I for one am very happy that I can finally “identify” my way into lesbian spaces. Those ladies were being very selfish denying my penis entry into their hot, hot girl-on-girl scenes! Now I just put on a dress and lipstick and they HAVE to include my penis or be denounced as bigots."

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 12/10/2018 07:36

Comments are brilliant.

NotTerfNorCis · 12/10/2018 07:39

Not a single comment supports the article. They put the gender critical argument very well. I'd love to know what the article's writer makes of them.

scepticalwoman · 12/10/2018 07:44

Comments standing up to trans bullying I see.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 12/10/2018 08:16

And these are the ones who'll feel entitled to run the country when they graduate ...

There's been far too much pussyfooting around. There's disagreement and there's deranged, misogynistic witch hunts against women who dare to stand up for themselves. Is there no discipline on campus and are these students not being taught /reminded to respect others? They'll have a huge shock when they enter the real world, that's all I can say.

failingatlife · 12/10/2018 08:16

Intelligent, thoughtful comments on that article. Especially Charlie at 11:15pm. Hope some of them are from studentsHmm
