Women have always been good at fundraising - look at anything local and you will see it is the women who are the ones doing all the hard graft to raise funds.

Political parties have historically relied on women to do the tough, non glamorous stuff at local level.

Women have always had to fight for services and provision for themselves and their children.

We know how to do this because we have always had to do it, something which is anathema to all those woke bros on social media.

I did smirk at something a previous poster said about how their GoFundMe pages generally raise diddly squat, no wonder they are so miffed.

placemats · 11/10/2018 15:47

Excellent post RedDogsBeg

You are right. Women have always helped one another and put in a lot of sacrifice for the greater good.

It is inspiring and wonderful.

JustABrokenDoll · 11/10/2018 15:52

I’d love to know where the money for all these TRA/AWA to sit around on their arse’s all day on twatter comes from?

By holding out their begging bowls via Patreon and Ko-fi.

I saw one transwoman asking for donations because they were too depressed to cook and needed money for takeaways. True fucking story bro.

Tranasctivists are spamming the fuck out of the 'not recommended' button. Most of them using terf and other misogynistic slurs, and the usual nonsense about transphobia and how transwomen are women! You can't be a feminist if you wish to retain female spaces, etc

VintageFur · 11/10/2018 16:05

I usually feel quite impotent wrt movements I can get behind... So I'm delighted to have been able to make donations to groups recommended here so the good work may long continue.

Bonions · 11/10/2018 16:13

breastfeedingclownfish It's so infuriating that all the gender critical responses are hidden on that link.

Ereshkigal · 11/10/2018 16:36

I am rather bemused that they keep ranting on about how women's money would be better spent on something other than what women choose to spend it on.

This. I don't need a male rights movement to tell me what I am allowed to spend my hard earned money on for what I personally believe is right. Do fuck off with that.

Ereshkigal · 11/10/2018 16:39

Quite impressed with Metro's response actually.

Me too. Thank you Metro. A lot of companies could learn something.

Travis's taxis Grin

FekkoTheLawyer · 11/10/2018 16:40

If it wasn't for twits like them then maybe the money would have been spent on (real) women's projects. (Real women not real projects).

There's plenty where that come from, sunshine.

LizzieSiddal · 11/10/2018 16:41

That Metro response is fab.

Love the idea of boycotting a free paper!

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 11/10/2018 16:44

It's the assumed power that has created and started to make cracks in this whole thing.

FekkoTheLawyer · 11/10/2018 16:49

Twitter is fascinating isn't it?

Today I read about a book being advertised in a certain 'newspaper' about Jackie who was 'unfortunately' a lesbian - so became Jack. A heart-warming story of a little gxrl who didn't like pink. So she became a boy and lived happily ever after. The end.

Who the fuck is buying that? Their poor poor daughters.

Redshoeblueshoe · 11/10/2018 16:54

Boycotting the metro
I love it Grin

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 11/10/2018 16:55

Just goes to show that they've never actually heard of The Metro before doesn't it.

oooompa · 11/10/2018 16:55

Still marvelling at how brilliant that ad was, I can feel the tide is turning!

Up until yesterday I was posting very mild, well mannered thoughts on Facebook. Then I saw the womxn shit and decided not to be so nice. And then I saw THIS and now I'm just furious:

Peak transed peak transed peak transed!

Oh, and finally plucked up the courage to talk to a school mum friend about it who all agreed it was ridiculous.

I'm in a mum's whatsapp group and we do occasional trips out but I'm not particularly friendly, should I send a message asking them to look into it and look at the consultation? I don't feel brave enough just yet Blush

IKeepFlouncing · 11/10/2018 17:00

someone asking if they doing crowdfunding for trans advert in metro

Poor soul should I tell them that these cult leaders only have Payme links for themselves

IKeepFlouncing · 11/10/2018 17:02

Stavvers For blocking me on twitter my day just gets better and better

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 11/10/2018 17:08

Poor soul should I tell them that these cult leaders only have Payme links for themselves

The people with the money, would never spend it on an advert, this is the issue when the people with the most power are not really part of your cause, the ones at the top are not doing it for the benefit of Trans-gender people, they have their own motives.
Meanwhile the young kids who have been swept up in the mob mentality, and the ones with really good intentions are left to take the beating.

Sadly when this is over they will be the ones feeling the brunt of the backlash and it’s not their fault.

speakingwoman · 11/10/2018 17:25

I've now spoken to my hairdresser. That should turn the tide alone....

speakingwoman · 11/10/2018 17:26

to be fair, I fully expect to see an advert in response arguing for the change in the law and that's absolutely fine by me.

PersonWithAVulva · 11/10/2018 17:26

Quite impressed with Metro's response actually.

Me too.

I see TRAs are taking it as metro denying 'trans peoples right to exist' Hmm

FekkoTheLawyer · 11/10/2018 17:27

Exist all you like - but don't tell me what to call myself and keep out of my loo.

PersonWithAVulva · 11/10/2018 17:29

Best TRA response to the ad has to be the one who saying that to be 'fair' to both sides, metro should allow a free add from trans people. Like, how is that fair? of course if they wish to pay for the ad space they are free to do so, but this would require taking their own paypal links off (since when did it become acceptable to just put a random p[aypal link on your social media and ask for donations?!) and crowdfunding from their own pockets, like we had to.

The 45k thing though, I am find it hilarious that its being parroted round. That we got funding from right wing Americans for the 45k and such. Its just such a ridiculous lie that it makes them look more unhinged than usual
