Madeleine, I met briefly and felt like a right idiot because I admire you so much and didn't know what to say Blush.

Your vids help me get it and really understand this whole thing. All my love to you!!!

Farinthepast · 08/10/2018 17:41

Sending love to you Magdalen Flowers

NaturalBornWoman · 08/10/2018 19:31

Magdalen, so sorry to hear this and sending you love and light. You are an inspirational woman, thank you for all that you do.

Now, my DD has had some trouble in the brain department over the past year, so is under a neurosurgeon. The guy has done some pioneering work on delivering chemo directly into the tumour, looking to improve outcomes for high grade glioblastoma patients. You may have all the experts you need, but I remember when DD was first diagnosed as a child, I did my own research and found out that opinions and outcomes can vary. Happy to provide details if it would be of interest. X

Sending love and support to you Magdalene and so sorry to hear you have to go through this. Be kind to yourself through recovery. We’re all here cheering you on.

TheGirlWhoWasntThere · 08/10/2018 20:06

Oh Magdalen, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Flowers

You are an inspiration to us all.

Am thinking of you.

Sending you love.

Doobigetta · 09/10/2018 14:54

I’m so sorry Magdalen has to go through this, I have so much respect for her.

Does anyone know, in her first ladybrain video she said that the tumour would eventually be fatal- is there a chance that this surgery could change that? Or can it only remove the immediate danger and not change the long-term prognosis. I’m sorry if that’s an inappropriate question, but Magdalen is so matter of fact about it, and it would be good to hear that there’s a bit of hope.

NoodleEatingPoodle · 09/10/2018 17:56

Doobigetta there's some information on prognosis and treatments here.

There's no escaping that glioblastoma is an absolutely devastating diagnosis. That said, they would not be putting a patient through major surgery and radiation unless there was a reasonable expectation that it would make a positive difference.

Doobigetta · 09/10/2018 18:54

Thanks, Noodle. Devastating is the word.

waterlego6064 · 09/10/2018 22:14

I’ve been thinking a lot about Magdalen today. I found it so sad to see her vulnerability in the video, I think. I hope she has some loved ones around her during this horrible time.

And I feel angry too at how unfair it seems. Magdalen is so young, and has such a brilliant brain.

Sending all my hopes and best wishes your way Magdalen. I hope your treatment will be underway very soon.

horizonglimmer · 13/10/2018 20:22

Damn right she should be proud of the life she has lived so far.

She's one of life's heroic figures.

Utterly inspiring. Fearlessly brave. Uncompromisingly honest.

Love her!

quietbutdetermined · 13/10/2018 21:43

You are an inspiration Magdalen. Wishing you a positive outcome and a speedy recovery.

ChattyLion · 13/10/2018 22:22

How about we all do something practical to send our love and admiration to Magdalen?

Anyone got ideas?

What if we all send her a little something to get herself whatever she wants - PayPal donation address is on her video in the OP.

And then also something to show her how much we appreciate her - maybe we can all share our favourite video of her's? We'd need a hashtag.

Or - something else? Anyone got any ideas?

OvaHere · 16/10/2018 20:56

Fantastic news. She is looking great considering. Flowers

PissedOffWoman · 16/10/2018 21:17

Great picture. What a woman! I proper love her I do!

gendercritter · 16/10/2018 21:25

So relieved to see her looking so well.

If you can survive brain surgery a few aggressive arseholes on Twitter is nothing

AngryAttackKittens · 16/10/2018 21:26

Wish I was close enough to do the take round food thing, and I hope she has people around her who can provide support in practical ways.

She's looking great! Hopefully this is the last of the surgery.

deepwatersolo · 16/10/2018 21:28

Great news! Flowers

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/10/2018 21:29

So glad to see you got through the surgery!

You are just incredible. Thank you for all you do Flowers

CisMyArse · 16/10/2018 21:38

Looking fab, Magdalen. Glad you're still smiling.

Would love to do something to help her... am going to donate - I suppose everything helps - Taxi's, food delivery's, general little luxuries.

naivetyisthenewblack probably the paypal's easiest?
Crochet or knit squares for a blanket? Those Leeds Spinners are phenomenal craftswomen, wonder if they've got ideas.

naivetyisthenewblack · 16/10/2018 22:35

If it's a blanket can it say something that'll make her smile like "wrong side of history my arse" like that awesome banner?

naivetyisthenewblack · 16/10/2018 22:36

(Is that knittable? Craft-ignoramus here)!
