Magdalen, so many people have said it so much better than me on this thread. I'm not sure whether you'll see all our posts, but I hope you do.

It was through watching your videos, your clear-talking, upfront, take no bullshit, calling it out, that properly helped me 'get it'.

Noodle sums up what I would have said, but better:
I'm glad you say you're happy with how you've lived your life so far... You should be so bloody proud of yourself. Of your courage to live by your convictions, to not be bullied or silenced or made to capitulate; of your razor sharp intelligence and quirky, witty warmth; of your solidarity with and love for womankind... Thank you for all of it.

I donated to Helen Staniland's survey crowdfunding this morning, and have sent you the same amount - because I wouldn't have known or felt so strongly about this if it wasn't for you.

You have mobilised so many women to take action.

Jean - I'd quite like to chuck "a few bob" your way too, this time not for your amazing fundraising which I'm sure you'd try to divert it to, but for the same reason as Magdalen. To thank courageous women who have put so much on the line, and are currently going through shit times. You both deserve something for yourselves too

Magdalen, you have been inspirational over the years! Hoping you all the best for the operation.

If people want to help, she has a Patreon. Being gravely ill is very hard work. Giving her resources to pay for help in the home, taxis - anything to make life easier is a practical way to support her. I can only spare a pitiful amount but it all adds up.

I've spent time with her on two occasions. I remember her joking that all T*RFS smoke as we puffed away earlier this year. I was absurdly proud that she recognised me.

I'm old enough to be her mother and I find myself getting all mother hen.

Perhaps @FloralBunting, you could pray for her? I shall ask my DM too. I'm ambivalent about faith but feel that if God does exist she's more likely to listen to people she already hears from frequently. And now you're all going to laugh at me

Magdalen, you've beamed a lot of light and clarity. Thank you for your videos, comments, inspiration, reassurance... you're amazing. I too will be thinking of you over the next week and beyond and hoping for your good recovery.

Magdalen, your video deconstructing Riley Dennis's "Your Dating Preferences" (sorry, I forget the exact title), made me laugh (with you) and rage (at Riley) in equal measure. I wish you only good in the next week and beyond, and hope that we will be hearing your brilliant, articulate and important voice again soon .

Love love love Magdalen and like pp's it was her videos which chrystalised this argument for me with her sharp wit and dead pan humour.
I was lurking on the other thread about feeling weary re the Manchester police tweet and was (inwardly)agreeing that it just feels so hard fighting the establishment. That now seems a bit self indulgent given what Magdalen is going through, hope to see her back fighting the good fight soon.

I will donate to the patreon. I have done that before, but with this I thought a specific fund might raise more money. However it seems sensible to just donate to Magdalen and then she can use the money for anything she might need.

I haven’t watched your update Magdalen but there is a Neurologist in this household if you ever need explanations just PM me.

Magdeline you are the epitome of womanhood. Courageous, intelligent, witty and warm. I watched your update today and because I did, when I saw the link to email MPs about the Fair Play for Women meeting, I immeadiatly did it because I owe it to women like you who have put themselves out there on the front line. Thank you for your awesomeness, I would be very pleased if my daughter turned out like you .

I'm actually on a self-imposed MN break right now, but as I've been @ed (quite happily for a useful purpose btw) I came along to say that yes, I am doing all that religious stuff right now for her, even though I know she'll probably think it's all cobblers, as many people do. It's my way of shouting at the darkness, by literally lighting candles. (Actually appropriate use of 'literally' there, for those new to the idea of using language properly).

Magdalen, you are totally magnificent, and you galvanized my misgivings into clear thought, and gave me the courage I needed to take a stand in my family and community. I will pray for you, and I will stick a few bob your way as well, because prayer is supposed to galvanise us into action too.

And I promise here, as I promised aloud when I saw your video, as my kids will attest to, that I will not stop fighting.

Shouting out much respect and admiration Magdelene. This is terrible news but you are a young, strong and resilient woman. Keep asking questions of the medical staff and keep asking no matter how irritated they might be. Take someone with you to every medical appointment as second voice and pair of ears.

Just wanted to add my voice to those who found Magdalen an inspiration to start the push back and to wish her a speedy recovery.

This news made me cry. Please let this brilliant, principled, clever, funny, incisive, righteous rockstar of a woman make it.

Sitting in tears watching this. Magdelen, you brilliant, brave, wonderful woman, you have impacted my life so much. I binge watched all of your videos a few months ago and haven't been the same since. Your courage and wit have inspired me and many of my friends. I hope someone is able to post this thread to her. Know that there are many women sending strength and love to you as you walk through this.
