Something rotten in the city of Leeds

You may recall Leeds City Council withdrew permission for WPUK to hold their meeting in the Civic Hall in the city last Friday evening. The organisers were told only a couple of hours before it was due to start.

This morning, I believe to celebrate the centenary of some women being given the vote, there was a flag relay up to the Civic Hall in Leeds. It was a bit 'piss up in a brewery': not many people there, nobody sure what was happening etc. But the folded flag was passed from hand to hand along a chain of us women, dressed in suffrage colours.

Then the fun started at the photo call on the steps - out came the sticky back plastic black X's which we plonked over our mouths (or used our hands when the X wouldn't stick). Hopefully there will be press photos of a bunch of disobedient, uppity women behind His Worshipfulness the Mayor. One of us (not me) gave an interview to the press. We then went to the reception and stood in silent protest when the councillor, who was responsible for pulling the venue from under our feet at the last minute, gave her spiel. She told some porky pies about the real purpose of the meeting hadn't been made clear, she was corrected as it had. She was visibly rattled. Then we left for coffee and cake.

Good way to spend a Monday morning. Highly recommended.

If you open the dictionary to 'gaslighting' you see a picture of this gent.

Friday: it was me, it was me, aren't I good
Monday: nothing is straightforward with these women, they staged it.

Well done women. I am so glad you showed up the rank hypocrisy of LCC.

"Look what you made me do."

The organisers of the Plymouth meeting were also blamed for vandalising the building on twitter. Angry

Brilliant work well done- and councillor trying to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes! Rotten.
