Shocking levels of transphobia

I have been lurking here for a while and reading through the posts on a daily basis. I am truly shocked with the levels of transphobia that exist on this board. I have read what has been posted and the arguments that have been put across against the reform of the Gender Recognition Act; and all I see are the same arguments that have been used in the past when it came to changes in the laws relating to any other minority. That being that predators will exploit this change to abuse women/girls, yet everytime this has happened in the past the claims that they would did not come to fruition.

I can see no change as to how things would be any different with this change. As now things currently stand trans women can already use womens toilets, are put on ladies wards in hospitals when getting treatment, can use female changing facilities in swimming baths and so on. This has been happening for decades and Armageddon hasn't happened.

There are many other areas of life that this energy could be and should be directed at, which would make a huge difference to the lives of women. Without victimizing and stigmatizing a minority group that already suffers enough as it is.

Oh my work here is done. I wanted to see if the women on here actually did care about women's issues. You have all done the rest for me. It's weird how your all obsessing over a very small percentage of people. People who you will probably never even meet.

PositivelyPERF · 03/02/2019 01:13

feels gust of wind as Lisette12 runs for the metaphorical door

Vixxxy · 03/02/2019 02:17

The bump was strange, and the replies since then read oddly too! Though of course, it was an odd thread to start with really. But expected from midnight visitors!

I don't think I understand the point you were trying to make lisette?

Yes, men who go online to try and trick young women are dicks. I agree. I don't understand though, now having more pressing concerns means that you don't care about womens issues? Unless I read you wrong.

Vixxxy · 03/02/2019 02:19

I also wish that abusive/narc/pisstaking males were a very small percentage of people. It doesn't seem that way though. NAMALT of course, before I upset someone! As obviously this must be pointed out anytime you discuss men who are abusive/dicks.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 03/02/2019 03:31

The conversation between Jane Clare Jones and Ben Boyce is classic - anytime she says male violence he hears I’m being accused of something. They are attempting to find a way to discuss male violence that doesn’t provoke that knee jerk reaction. Work in progress. But what’s interesting is how he has no idea of women’s day to day experience and when confronted (about 56 mins in) with an example is genuinely 😮 shocked.

She dismantles his assertion that women are responsible for men’s desire and somehow are responsible when men don’t get what they want from women.

And that phenomenon of men assuming victimhood at the hands of women is commonplace and is often thrown at women

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 03/02/2019 10:03

If lisette had started a thread about men tricking young women online then it would have been responded to in kind

Instead she bumped an months old thread with a comment that jarred in the context of the existing thread

Hence the first few posts...

Just in case lisette is still reading you understand

ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2019 10:12

Someone else bumped it with that silly comment which has now been deleted, unless Lisette is also raynera.

Casting aspersions on FWR over responses to a troll comment seem to be merely inflammatory and contrary to talk guidelines.
If you want to discuss a completely different question to whatever is raised in the OP, start a thread.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 03/02/2019 10:13

Oh of course errol

Abject apologies lislette

You didnt start it!

Just took affence at it

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 03/02/2019 10:14

Or offence Grin

Anyway...start a thread about it lislette

Has anyone of you ever, EVER read about Pro-Trans voices who are pushing for Self ID admit "yes, we see the issue here. Male violence is prevalent here and legislation like Self ID WILL be exploited. We need something else here, not self ID but something that will look after the interests of both Trans people AND women. Safeguarding for all".

Anyone?!

No.

That should tell you something OP if you can bare to come back and admit you've made a mistake. These threads are anti Self ID. Not anti trans.

Getting tired and sick of saying this.

Horsewithnoma · 03/02/2019 11:00

Has anyone else noticed how very right wing people object to "swearing" and "bad language" yet often are the very people who use appalling language to describe those with darker skin or those of a different sexuality?

And on the rare occasion that they let themselves go it's all asterisks innit?

F**cking idiots.

Horsewithnoma · 03/02/2019 11:03

Nope.

They seem to be the only group of women who are not concerned at all.

Strange that. (Sarcasm smiley)

LangCleg · 03/02/2019 11:28

My husband's too busy doing the ironing to go on dating apps.

Does this mean I care about women? Or about not doing the ironing myself?

Horsewithnoma · 03/02/2019 11:32

NAMALT

Nearly all men are like that.

PositivelyPERF · 03/02/2019 13:49

No, Horsewithnoma. I prefer Not All Men AREN’T Like That.

Horsewithnoma · 03/02/2019 15:19

Yes, that's a belter.

NotTerfNorCis · 03/02/2019 15:43

Hi, this is a tangent but does anyone know what happened to the thread asking why TRAs use race as an argument? I put a long post on there this morning and now can't find the thread. If it was deleted, why? It was several days old.

Awall1776 · 03/02/2019 16:33

@Semp.

I’m afraid you will need to show specific examples or I won’t believe you. Accusations of phobia are thrown around like confetti these days so I no longer believe them when I hear them unless they are accompanied with evidence and specific examples.

NeurotrashWarrior · 03/02/2019 16:33

Deleted not

NeurotrashWarrior · 03/02/2019 16:34

They thought poster didn't have great intentions.

HumansCannotEverChangeSex · 03/02/2019 16:40

It was deleted Not I seen your comment, and I have screenshots of it actually. It was the incel comment that got it deleted. Not sure how the poster didn’t have great intentions, it was a thread about a stupid argument used by TRAs.

NotTerfNorCis · 03/02/2019 16:53

Thanks Humans and Warrior. Shame it got deleted - there were good posts on the thread.

NeurotrashWarrior · 03/02/2019 17:28

I can't really remember it but this was the reply:
