Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

Brisa I am not sure if the genteel This Morning viewers are ready for Posie's straight talking no nonsense approach and as such may take the side of 'friend of the show' IW.

However, having heard and seen IW before, IW reverts to type when disagreed with, and given that IW has put out an aggressive text in advance of this meeting, I think the fluffy / vulnerable persona might just give way to the one more usually seen in disagreements. This is not a cosy chat with Holly and Phil.

Doing this for ALL T people eh IW? Including the Pips Bunce types?

Best of luck Posie and thank you

That’s a really good point, charlie.

Posie has lot herself put there for all women, and I hope she knows how much we appreciate her putting her neck on the line.

HandsOffMyRights · 28/09/2018 08:08

I agree Charlie.
The spokespeople who go public on this are really putting it all on the line for the cause.

Posie must have sat her children down at some point to explain. I hope they are proud of their mother.

I was watching a Youtube film last night about the Birmingham Suffragettes and just talking about the women being hounded, pelted with eggs, groped by police and then force fed in jail made me so sad. This is happening now in modern day terms. Women are in the stocks.

There will be manipulation today in the form of IW going for the "poor me" line and Ruth interrupting Posie just as she makes the point that most TW have penises.

I hope Posie can remain calm and get her points across.

She made a brilliant point with Dr Hardon the other day when she asked if he assigns sex by a person's gender preferences in A&E.

HandsOffMyRights · 28/09/2018 08:09

Spokeswomen! Been watching too many TRA vids arghhhhh!

deepwatersolo · 28/09/2018 08:10

Charlie, that reminds me of something I heard Chris Hedges say: Rebels do not rebel because they want to, but because they have no choice.
There are, luckily, always some people, who simply cannot stand by in the face of injustice, even while others do. They feel they have no choice. I believe Posie is such a person and I admire her very much for it.

Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 08:11

I withdrew (thank you @mnhq) because I worded it so badly.

Just wanted to say, this is not a fun gig for Posie, being the focus of a world of hostile, powerful, tech-skilled people, with a life, kids, family, husband's job, source of income, even your home if you're sued, everything. It's a massive sacrifice to put yourself up like this.

Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 08:16

Yy I agree with everything you say. We can sometimes have a rosy view of noble heroines, much acclaim, lots of TV time, mingling with the Hello crowd on set, but actually it's tough, really tough. I'm so moved by what Posie, Nic Williams, Kathleen Stock and Venice, darling amazing Venice, are doing. I need to roll call Lucy Masoyd, Ruth Serwotka, all of you. All.

Juells · 28/09/2018 08:22

When Dr Shutup was ranting about the poster I really wanted the interviewer to ask him why it was OK for "Repeat after me: Transwomen are women" to be projected in enormous letters, but not for a dictionary definition of 'woman'.

EverardDigby · 28/09/2018 08:22

Thank you to Posie from me too. I have three trans people amongst my friends and family, two are very vocal, one of these I've seen mentioned on here occasionally, another quite young and vulnerable due to family trauma, which means that all I feel able to do is have some under the radar conversations when I can. There's loads of us behind you though. I saw half of the Sky interview and I thought the bit about not having anything against trans people but just not thinking they were women was very powerful.

Juells · 28/09/2018 08:23

You naively think that there are researchers beavering away behind the scenes providing proper information in advance of interviews, don't you? But it doesn't seem like that happens at all.

Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 08:24

It was extra powerful because it was almost throwaway. The tone was so 'well obviously'.

Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 08:25

If the researchers are trans borg they will provide a transy brief.

seafret · 28/09/2018 08:25

Go Posie! Give no fucks! That is her superpower against IW etc. They have nothing that she wants or needs. Or the TV people.

There is no sense of negotiation or persuasion about her. She speaks truth and boundaries like it or not. Liked or not.

She is awesome and courageous.

UrsulaPandress · 28/09/2018 08:29

Good luck to Posie.

Can't wait to hear her in person this evening.

Juells · 28/09/2018 08:29

I thought the bit about not having anything against trans people but just not thinking they were women was very powerful.

Yes, it's very shocking when she says that - the first time I saw GG saying the same thing in an interview I almost choked on my coffee, we're so fucking used to mincing our words and pussyfooting around and being nice that we reel a bit when someone says "They're men".

HandsOffMyRights · 28/09/2018 08:29

Thank you to all who speak publicly to shine a light on this. Flowers

I suspect there are many on here prepared to lose jobs/die on this hill because it is innate.

It's so bloody unfair though when other human rights movements allows those affected to be at the centre of the debate. To gain public understanding and support.

Nothing has moved on from the early 1900s. Nothing.

CrackpotsArePots · 28/09/2018 08:31

Two thints to convey to the average viewer :

The people pushing the GRA reforms overwhelmingly do not have dysphoria and most have a penis

Abuses are not feared they are happening NOW

Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 08:36

I think there are loads of us speaking 'publicly' ie not anonymously but who would rather chew their own arms off than do something like this. I'm out and vocal at work and with family and friends, but there's no way I'd do this.

frogintheTyne · 28/09/2018 08:44

Good Luck to Posie - all power to your magnificent Adult Human Female elbow.

OrchidInTheSun · 28/09/2018 08:46

Sorry I don't really watch daytime TV. Does anyone know what time this is on?

And yes, it's very easy to say that Posie is in a privileged position but let's not forget the police interviewed her and told her not to leave the country and her children's schools have been doxxed on Twitter. She is doing this at enormous personal cost.

RepealtheGRA · 28/09/2018 08:47

This Morning is 10.30 - 12.30. Don’t know at what point Posie will be on.

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 28/09/2018 08:47

Marking my place ready to watch this in a bit.
I very strongly suspect posie will wipe the floor with Ian

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 08:55

I hope the various people who tried very hard to get everyone here to turn on Posie are reading this thread and seething.

She's doing a great job and I can't wait to see her wipe the floor with IW.

RepealtheGRA · 28/09/2018 09:00

If you’re lurking Posie, do try and get a shoutout to Ocado in, they really deserve it Wink
