Bravo Nadine!

Cuntysnark · 26/09/2018 10:10

Well well well!

AbsintheFriends · 26/09/2018 10:12

Thank you Nadine!

I do not underestimate the courage it takes to press send on a tweet like that.

redshoeblueshoe · 26/09/2018 10:14

Well done Nadine

FloraHiggins · 26/09/2018 10:17

Whilst I'm pleased for heads over the parapet, I have to be honest and say the fact that it is people like Nadine Dorries and Kate Hoey who are the ones who are happy to publicly say this does give me pause. It's very uncomfortable cheering on Piers Morgan et al when I am so diametrically opposed to them on most other subjects. It's hard to reconcile.

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 26/09/2018 10:18

Star well done Nadine

placemats · 26/09/2018 10:19

I'm with Flora on this. It is hard to reconcile.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 26/09/2018 10:23

Yeah, I'm less than thrilled that it's Nadine and Kate. I could do with some credible politicians!

BettyDuMonde · 26/09/2018 10:25

They are used to being criticised for their opinions and thus threats from TRAs hold no power over them.

Same for the red tops.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/09/2018 10:25

I can't help reading that as # Lama woman Grin

muchalover · 26/09/2018 10:25

Nope. Nothing by Nadine Dorries gets my vote. She is an odious woman. It's like saying that an abusive partner is ok because they bought me flowers once. Nope. Not nearly setting the bar high enough.

dolorsit · 26/09/2018 10:26

I think part of it is that these women have already stood by their principles and have been denigrated for them.

So basically any reaction they get to this is water off a ducks back.

Redkeyboard · 26/09/2018 10:26

This is why the lefties who are worried about the obvious issues with self-ID but not speaking up need to speak up.

Nobody outside the Westminster/PC/TRA bubble is going to be ok with letting rapists into women's prisons, teenage boys into their daughters tent etc 'because trans'.

If sensible middle ground people don't speak up NOW they are leaving the ground wide open for someone else to grab.

Snowymountainsalways · 26/09/2018 10:28

I have always loved Nadine. Her books are incredible, she is an insightful, courageous and emotionally intelligent woman. We need more like her.

dolorsit · 26/09/2018 10:28

Nope. Nothing by Nadine Dorries gets my vote.

Does this mean you automatically take the opposite view to her or just that nothing could induce you to vote for her?

Redkeyboard · 26/09/2018 10:29

Any politician who won't speak up for free speech for women is no supporter of democracy.

Come on Westminster. There've been a few voices both left and right, others need to join.

AncientLights · 26/09/2018 10:31

Never thought I'd agree with Nadine Dorries, but she's just joined the ranks of many I have recently said that about. I hope she gives others the courage to speak up. That pusillanimous bunch in Westminster that is.

VeryBerrySeptember · 26/09/2018 10:34

She's a tough cookie.

I disagree with her on a regular basis but she is a plain speaker which is unusual in the lawyer dominated ranks of MPs.

What she sees in BoJo is beyond me however.

redshoeblueshoe · 26/09/2018 10:34

I would actually vote for anyone who doesn't buy into this bs, regardless of their views on anything else.

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 26/09/2018 10:35

Nadine is out, fantastic!!

Even odious women are women, mucha Grin

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 26/09/2018 10:36

I absolutely cannot bear Nadine Dorries.
It seems a lot of people I cannot bear share some of my gender critical views, to be honest it does, every time, make me go back and examine why I hold these views.

And each time I am confirmed that this is what I believe, so that's a good thing I guess! Self-examination!

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 26/09/2018 10:37

BeyondAdultHumanFemale that's a very good point, even odious women are women!

scepticalwoman · 26/09/2018 10:38

Yup redshoesblueshoes - the identity and safety of women and children far outweigh political boundaries. And it's this 'right wing / left wing and never the twain shall meet" that's got us into this mess - Brexit etc.

JellySlice · 26/09/2018 10:39

Oh FFS!

It's hard to reconcile.

The fact that your politics, philosophy, beliefs, whatever, are so different to these other women's is critically important! Because the only things that you have in common is that you are ADULT FEMALE HUMANS. That is the whole point of our campaigning!

Shampooeeee · 26/09/2018 10:39

Bravo Nadine! A thousand thank yous for standing up for women. We've got your back.
