Well, I guess I knew this was coming. Dissent will not be tolerated. Forget the safety concerns, the privacy and dignity issues, the managing out of gender non-confirming girls. What's really serious is one leader referring to another leader "a nightmare" in a private conversation.

Two Guide leaders who had raised safeguarding concerns about the organisation’s transgender policy have been expelled and had their units closed down.

Dozens of children face disappointment because there is no one else to run the units. The expelled leaders say they will take legal action against Girlguiding if their removals are upheld.

Helen Watts, one of 12 leaders who signed a letter to The Sunday Times in April asking for a review of the policy, was told on Friday that her membership was being terminated after more than 15 years with the Guides.

At least one other signatory, based in the northwest of England, was expelled. Documents seen by The Sunday Times suggest disciplinary investigations have been launched against at least five Guide leaders.

Interesting that you hear what you want to hear. On Mermaids Twitter account, one viewer has said that it was disgusting (can't remember exact word she used, but that tone) to see Piers Morgan equate trans children with rapists and sexual abusers.

I'm equally concerned about the 80% of trans children who will "revert" to their biological sex/gender when they have gone through puberty. How will a girl feel if she's been wearing a binder for four years, belonging to boy's organisations and being socialised as a male. I think everyone's so bloody scared to say and do the "wrong" thing that the knee-jerk reaction is to run headlong into the journey to transition.

None of my friends are talking about our friend's daughter, who we now, as requested, refer to as he and a male name. I know it's because we're all shit scared of not being seen to be on board. I can't imagine any other such momentous event in a child's life that a close group of friends wouldn't discuss. But there's not been a word.

Yes as per Caroline Farrow's confirmation from ECHR, Girl Guides must now officially make clear that it is mixed sex.
Any policies which discriminate would be void and open to appeal.

GG have to now decide if they wish to re-assert being a single-sex organisation. Which they could under the Equalities Act 2010.

I hope they are panicking at GG HQ this morning - Truly a mess of their own making. That’s what you get when you take advice from people with a dubious agenda and not from those whose only concern is Safeguarding ALL children.

I have a young FEMALE family member that is going through the notion of saying they’re a boy. I have intention of colluding in her confusion so use no pronouns. I just use the pet names I’ve always used for the younger members of the family. They’re none ‘gendered’ pet names, ‘sweetheart, etc’ so I doubt they’ve even noticed. I know we still love and respect each other.

From where I'm standing GG have everything to lose and nothing to gain from their stance.

The scale of the pushback and the suggestion (on Twitter) that they have an unusually large proportion of newish inexperienced trustees (as in not also trustees elsewhere) though suggests this isn't naivety in their part. Therefore they must perceive a strong potential benefit (and assumption that they can weather) this sh*tstorm.

Presumably £££ (and lots of it or why bother?) so where from and what's the ultimate objective?

This, presumably, is a stepping stone - a means of rubber stamping a wider definition of 'girls' to include biological boys. If the GG (with the Queen as the ultimate head) accepted this definition without the organisation self-destructing then would the dictionary definition be next - on the rationale that the meaning needs to keep step with cultural change? It would presumably be hard to argue against as millions of parents would have tacitly accepted it by continuing to send their children there?

Yes, it has. AC congratulated a wiki editor on winning the war of "woman in red" (I think the word "woman" had been allocated a red colour as contested.

I'd sure like to be a fly on the wall at GG headquarters the past couple of days. Did they see that coming? Their statement from yesterday on Twitter infers they have misread the EA 2010. But how probable is that?

I'd like GG or other organisations to state that they've been mislead by their advisers on this topic and to question their expert status.

I find that if you edit something prominent on wikk, the TRAs are all over it, but they on't bother to read all of it so you can slip small changes in.
