Our group has just set up our twitter account, and our first post was in relation to something that has left us completely stunned. A wonderful woman shared an FOI she had posted with us, and it shows that the SPS has not considered the impact on female inmates of their trans policies, including policies in relation to moving men to women's prisons, nor have they engaged with female inmates on the changes and they haven't consulted with women's groups either. Please see this link for more our statement: twitter.com/WG_Scotland/status/1042080194557816832
Also here is the link to the FOI: www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/equality_and_human_rights_impact

The solution seems to be for female prisoners to commit a transphobic crime and then they won’t have to be in the same location as men. That’s the only way out for them if they object.

Come on you're not surprised are you?

Latinista · 18/09/2018 19:54

That is a terrific point Betty, that the under representation of women at all levels of different fora has led us to this. I had not drawn that connection before, but you expressed that so concisely and clearly that I now can’t stop thinking about it.

I don't know if I agree that under representation of women is the sole reason for this, I think it's more complicated. Plenty of women are hanging the rest out to dry, Ruth Hunt, Maria Miller, Dawn Butler, Penny Mordaunt to name just a few.

It could be that with better representation women would be less likely to go along with the status quo and have a stronger voice but there are some women who seem genuinely convinced that self ID is a good idea despite plenty of evidence to the contrary.

That document is illiterate frankly. Literally as well as logically and morally...

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFS.

I have nor words strong enough to condemn this.

Underrepresentation of critical thinking women, over represetation of gaslit, brainwashed women.

That is exactly what all these years of grooming has been about.

Can we say this really loudly now TRANS IDEOLOGY EXCLUDES NATAL WOMEN

Who said "women, enjoy your erasure"? because they really, really weren't joking.

Gotta love the empowerfulness that the 3rd wave feminism movement has delivered. We TOLD you it meant nothing in terms of power for women and was directly harmful. But we were mean. Well, I think that lot are pretty fucking mean.

Look where we are now. You self-centered arseholes.
