Women on the left are responsible for austerity

CarrotyO · 17/09/2018 21:59

I've heard it said that women on the left actually support and are therefore in some way responsible for austerity. This is because both Labour and the Tories support austerity. Therefore any woman who supports Labour, or the Left in general, also knowingly and consciously supports austerity and are therefore also responsible for the 1000s of deaths of disabled people caused by austerity. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Well, Carrot, I obviously don't agree with the actions of some Labour politicians, trying to turn WPUK into a political machine for Labour, streamlined to reflect Labour's policies and all, clearly not. Nor does Lisa, I am sure. I believe she said as much.

LightofaSilveryMoon · 19/09/2018 00:38

Labour doing fuck-all to fight austerity is a biggie, but not a surprise, for me. And I lived through Thatcherism and the Miners' Strike, in a coalfield area.

Currently politically homeless.

BettyDuMonde · 19/09/2018 00:38

Definitely a squirrel based dish - I’m not up for foraging for nuts.

Sadly, I’m not much of a cook either, got any good recipes, R0wan?

deepwatersolo · 19/09/2018 00:41

Have you seen Snowpiercer? Apparently roaches can hypothetically be made into a sort of deeply unpleasant energy bar.

That sounds excellent! 'Cause I imagine in a nomad world you need food with high energy density and stuff, so you can easily transport it... basically Ciff bars for after the revolution. I like it!

AngryAttackKittens · 19/09/2018 00:42

Everyone turn on Lisa right now!

OPs Inigo Montoya-like obsession with her is starting to worry me a bit. Do we need to stage an intervention?

Carroty feels strong allegiance to those Labour women at the center of this WPUK affair. And Carroty insists to not, I repeat definitely not be on the left.

I'm calling it: Labour is not on the left. Which helps explain why they are fine with austerity.

R0wantrees · 19/09/2018 00:52

BettyDuMonde
None for squirrel sorry. I'm not a meat eater!

AngryAttackKittens · 19/09/2018 00:54

I'm still confused as to how a radical feminist with anarchist leanings could not be on the left. Words, what do they mean?

BettyDuMonde · 19/09/2018 00:58

Me neither, but after 8 years of austerity I am wondering if we can afford to be picky!

deepwatersolo · 19/09/2018 01:02

Yeah. I don't know. I also don't know how exactly literacy will help girls not to get pregnant in a hunter and gatherer society. Details, I guess.

LightofaSilveryMoon · 19/09/2018 01:04

Because the current "left" is now resembling the bit exactly around the back of right and left where right and left both meet in mutual authoritarianism and toxic politics?

R0wantrees · 19/09/2018 01:06

It's a good point Betty, I do eat fish though and wondering if smoked squirrel would work instead of bacon on crab lines?

lisamuggeridge · 19/09/2018 01:42

Caroty the problem is not that I didnt explain its that my explanation hiyt at the bit of your identity who also advised me to go foraging and I ended up with a dead squirrel. So my view has been expressed, its carefully thought and based on careful observation of fairly publicly done stuff, and really is only me articulating the unspoken purpose of such behaviour which I assume we are supposed t ounderstand if its working. So all you have really contributed to this is evidence of denial and I had to deal with the dead squirrel you assured me woudl assist me in analysing the relationship between te care economy, women, these systems, politics. I can assure you I just ended up with a dead squirrl and that was your contribution to things. Have you gotten over your injured identity yet?

lisamuggeridge · 19/09/2018 01:43

Caroty, perhaps you could contribute more constructively to the debate you have triggered and the foraging that has resulted as we need your expertise.

lisamuggeridge · 19/09/2018 01:50

I have a questoin., While Universal Credit and our Local Authorities are failing, what do we do with the squirrel. How does the squirrel contribute to relearning about how this systems connect and consolidation learning and shifts since last crisis, and give us crisis management skills around areas like care as systems break down. We kind of have to use this period to consolidate some learning and some duties and I was wondering how to use the squirrel and the foraged nuts to assist me in this process. Do I need to focus on more nuts based foraging? Leaves? Other small animals and roadkill? Maybe grow wheat or corn or radishses?

lisamuggeridge · 19/09/2018 01:52

Also how do we discuss this system failure and explain the complete disconnect between different aspects of teh economy and the rule of law withot examining the failure of trade unions to be even aware of the systems they ar ethe collective voice for or laws contained within the,. How do we discuss these systems being without political representation beyond point of crisis by pretending they have it? Maybe this is where the foraging comes in?

Morning all

I was the poster on the other thread that DIRECTLY asked the question of Lisa. Lisa had made a comment on WPUK doxxing PP's children. I can't do copy and paste on my mobile, sorry. This resulted in LM putting forward her theorem which included several long posts. Idk that my question was answered.
CarrotyO came along and LM & CO engaged. LM directly accused CO rather randomly and the discussion was moved here.
Then - it all got a bit psychedelic.
(I think page numbers are different, depending which device you're using).
LM and some others have been rather rude and quite nasty to CO.
I think in summary that the thing between PP and WPUK has upset a lot of people. But I don't think it's fair of LM to throw wild accusations around (especially to strangers) about PP and the bloody bus all this time later. PP is not the messiah and WP is not the devil.
The wild accusations that CO quotes are LM's.

As to WP I TOTALLY agree that it's about time there was less cloak & dagger and more 'WHAT DID HE SAY'?

WP has done brilliant work, I think Jacky might have started it and maybe WP are more of a facilitator than anything else now.

Plus, the misgendering comment was probably a joke and LM might want to check her assumptions.
And stop being nasty and talking about nuts and squirrels. (Although amusing).
I've learned a lot from both major players on this thread.
Thank you.

lisamuggeridge · 19/09/2018 02:32

I did not accuse anyone from WPUK of doxxing her children. You had to fabricate that to make the rest of it makes sense cos you know it bollocks. I said risk was deliberately generated for Posie and her family using withdrawal solidarity like a whip, in an environment wher emob behaviour and abuse of women is demonstrated and ideated, and this exacerbated real risk in her life and contributed to a safeguarding risk. I saoid this because it has been done to me by the political cultures defined by just that behaviour who surprise surprise are exactly where I say they are. The reason you had to fabricate that bit was to make the rest of your bollocks make sense and I have repeatedly stated that WPUK have done a fucking amazing thing and have excellent relatiponships woth WPUK, publicised WPUK, and and that doesnt remove the history of the labour left or the impact pf that behaviour. When something doesnt shame you you dont need to do that. Deal with your shame at that behaviour to Posie by making sure its understood its not acceptable to use coercion and the abusive nature of that environment to do that to a mother. Period. There you go. Go run and tell someone i was mean to you.

lisamuggeridge · 19/09/2018 02:34

Oh and I said it because that is not to happen aain because you will get one of us killed or our kids hurt and these activists are dangerous.

NancyToo · 19/09/2018 03:12

I said you had made a comment, on which I asked for clarification.
It's virtually impossible to talk to you, I think you want to argue with people.
I'm sorry I asked you to clarify something you 'IMPLIED' then.
And I don't need to run off and tell on you because I'm not in a playground.
Goodnight Lisa, sleep well.

NancyToo · 19/09/2018 03:45

I wish to remove the question I asked Lisa.
I don't want to be involved in, or responsible for yet another instance of us arguing, insulting or going at each other.
I had a good reason for asking (on the other thread) and had no idea it would take 24 hours to not get a straight answer. I also had no idea it would be the source of what's happened here.

I AM WITHDRAWING MY QUESTION AND I'M VERY SORRY FOR ASKING IT.

deepwatersolo · 19/09/2018 06:33

I was there, too, from the start. Lisa never Said WP doxxed Anyone. It is strange that you would try to rewrite the history of this thread here. Just as I can‘t understand why you now make a big fuzz about some question on that other thread that was allegedly never answered, without naming the question, so that no one can know if it was answered, which I strongly suspect, and then withdraw the unnamed question, while your allegations stand.
Your comment, in summary, does not strike me as made in good faith, to be frank.

lisamuggeridge · 19/09/2018 07:28

Nancytoo. Thats also shame. I'd like the question to stand please Mumsnet being as it was a fabrication designed to abuse me and then place me as being in conflict. I'd like it to stand for the sake of record because this person is mendacious and has problems with perception and has a tendency to lie when a public record is not available or even when one is.

lisamuggeridge · 19/09/2018 07:30

And you got a straight answer, you got an accurate description of events which contradicted the lie you told to fabricate this situation. You sought me out to do this. Thats weird. @nancytoo

CarrotyO · 19/09/2018 07:56

I am not turning on Lisa, I am questioning all of you. You seriously think that wp is “turning into a political machine for labour”? You actually think that?

Some of us are in this fight because we care about the truth and what is real and this is bonkers!

What is your evidence for this? Why do you think this?
