TWAW *except* when it comes to violent porn

Suzzan Blac has gone hunting for videos of transwomen being treated appallingly in porn and not found any (note: sexual images, and a set of filmed rape violent porn showing abuse of a female). It's almost like transwomen are not women for the purposes of abuse on camera.

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 08/09/2018 12:35

Weird huh?

Gncq · 08/09/2018 13:00

Oh dear those video screenshots were horrid.

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 08/09/2018 13:03

Worth pointing put - for those unfamiliar with porn - that violent abuse of women in porn is widespread, even normalised.

LangCleg · 08/09/2018 13:16

I read that. Very interesting and probably predictable really - even they don't believe they are actually women - but you have to have a strong stomach for Suzzan's work. She has a great Twitter feed, btw.

GenderApostate · 08/09/2018 13:23

I’ve read that and those images are utterly sickening.
Susan Blac is doing incredible work.

Kyanite · 08/09/2018 13:44

In sex work you have the categories TV/TS. Yeah, strange...really the allies should be campaigning for them to be recognised as men or women.

PutItAwayDear · 08/09/2018 14:44

Tbh I expect the TRAs would put it down to the transmisogyny of the porn industry and claim it as a terrible oppression and denial of their sexual selves...

SausageOnAFork · 08/09/2018 15:01

I don’t think I have the stomach to read that. Can anyone tell me what the findings were?

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 08/09/2018 15:04

With sausage on this one

I dont think i want to see the photos

picklemepopcorn · 08/09/2018 15:08

Yes, I can't look either. Am glad someone is thinking critically though, thank you.

LangCleg · 08/09/2018 17:03

Can anyone tell me what the findings were?

That standard porn is full of men being violent to women.

That trans porn is full of men being affectionate to er... people who aren't women.

OlennasWimple · 08/09/2018 17:06

Well colour me surprised

gendercritter · 08/09/2018 17:21

That is so depressing on one level.

*distressing content below

Although I have seen more than once online a person talking about how they are transitioning to have more violent sex and so they more easily fantasize about being raped. One wrote quite plainly he'd had fantasised for years about watching a women get attacked by several men at once and he decided it would be more fun if he could play the part of the woman.

placemats · 08/09/2018 17:27

'Teen' girls in porn - break her in with violent sex, preferably anal first.

Trans porn - go gentle now with the breaking in and always use a condom.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 08/09/2018 17:45

Quelle surprise.

I also look forward to the trans activists taking on the porn industry and viewers, insisting that bodies are unimportant, gender is all, and telling men who are a bit taken aback / not keen when they have ordered up m/f porn to find they both have cocks as transphobic bigots.

"'Teen' girls in porn - break her in with violent sex, preferably anal first."

  • this - we know - is mainstream.
"Trans porn - go gentle now with the breaking in and always use a condom."
  • I did not know this WTF
WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 08/09/2018 18:50

I feel traumatised after clicking on that link I couldn't finish. Those poor women!
I was thinking "why don't they stop him?"
"Why are they fIlming and not helping?"
Then the horrible realisation that men and boys actually masturbate to these images of extreme violent and cruel abuse of women - they get off on their pain, terror and fear for their lives.
It makes me want to go vigilante.

But yes the gay/trans images are a different world - far away from the dark, murderous and cruel sadistic misogyny of the images of women. Sad

NothingOnTellyAgain · 08/09/2018 18:53

I didn't click it either.

Agree that gay porn is also a different ballgame.

Mainstream het porn is misogynistic racist nasty stuff.

And boys get their to do list from it, and then try and persuade girls to "let them".

When I was young it was fairly tame stuff the boys badgered you about.

These days it's a fucking nightmare.

They need to have porn education in schools. And I don't mean talking about how normal and sexy it is and how all 14yo will have seen it and know about all the acts that are depicted. Like that so called "resource" on the other thread.

bd67th · 08/09/2018 20:19

I am with PP that we need porn education in schools stat, because boys thinking that girls crying during sex is "normal" is beyond fucked up.

PSA: if the porn you are watching shows the woman crying, saying stop or no, or disassociated, you are watching RAPE. If she is in pain and not expressly requesting that the pain be continued, you are watching rape.

Pornhub need to be held to account for their policy of permitting rape footage as long as the word "rape" isn't used to describe it. How do we do that across jurisdictions though? I don't want to force ISPs to filter because people just use VPNs, I want the hosting websites that are monetising rape to be forced to stop.

OP posts:
SausageOnAFork · 08/09/2018 20:39

I’ve tried to tell DH that porn is violent these days but he seems to think it’s the same as the stuff found in hedgerows in the 80s.

I think a lot of people have no idea what porn is like these days. Just like weed has got a lot stronger than it was in our student days.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 08/09/2018 21:46

Making money from rape should be a crime like making money from murder is a crime.

Theswaggyotter · 08/09/2018 22:02

Wtf is wrong with people to think this is acceptable. Jeez no wonder teenage girls are transitioning to get away from all this violent misogyny

FloralBunting · 08/09/2018 22:03

I have to say I have a new rule now that I'm most definitely not going to click on any more links detailing these things. Contrary to what some delightful individuals think, I don't think you need to view reams of these screencaps to get the point being made, and a brief scan through was adequate for me to be both reminded of the point of calling porn repulsive, and finding lots of abused women coming to mind during Mass which made me cry nearly all the way through it.

thebewilderness · 08/09/2018 22:09

The only porn I ever see is when they follow me on tumblr and I have to click the down arrow to block.
I noticed exactly what pp said. The women are being sexually abused and what they call "she-male" porn is a d00d with breast implants being serviced.

2cats2many · 08/09/2018 22:10

I really wished I hadn't clicked on that link 😟

speakingwoman · 08/09/2018 22:16

Thankyou for posting.

I had no idea how much men hated us.
