Challenging Stonewall about having an adviser who employs a paedophile and asking why normal standards of 'probity and decency' are not being applied. Share token:

Well said Janice.

thecatfromjapan · 06/09/2018 00:47

So glad she took it to Stonewall.

Love Janice.

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 06/09/2018 00:55

Good on her!

Ereshkigal · 06/09/2018 01:00

Oh Brava Janice Wine

Datun · 06/09/2018 01:04

She's right. In that if it happened to a woman, or someone in the Tory party, it would be a no-brainer.

Being trans is a golden ticket.

The NSPCC recommends segregating the sexes after age 10. Unless someone is trans.

The girl guides forbids sons of volunteers to share accommodation with girls, unless they're trans.

Deputy leadership candidates would be publicly vilified for blocking 50,000 members of the public/their party, unless they're trans.

Twitter being a wash with screenshots of memberships to fetish sites would have anyone else instantly fired, unless they're trans.

Labour Party women's officers making a joke of rape and claiming to be Jimmy Savile's apprentice, would be forever ostracised, unless they're trans.

Time after time it's evident.

tobee · 06/09/2018 02:34

My allies should be the Labour Party, stonewall, etc. Instead they are Times and Spectator journalists. ConfusedSadAngry

KataraJean · 06/09/2018 07:15

Very well said, but as regards her cat (end of column), a litter tray where the cat ‘dumps’ would solve the problem. Litter trays really are not that much hassle, you can even get covered ones.

KataraJean · 06/09/2018 07:18

hooded litter tray

MnerXX · 06/09/2018 07:29

Great article. Absolutely needed to be said.

Litter trays are also great unless your cat is like ours and absolutely refuses to use one under any circumstances!

AngryAttackKittens · 06/09/2018 07:37

I'm not seeing what her objection to getting the poor cat a litter tray is.

Other than that, good piece.

hackmum · 06/09/2018 07:50

Yes, I have to admit I'm worried about the cat. You shouldn't put them outside at night! A litter tray is by far the best solution, if the cat will use it.

That aside, good piece.

arranfan · 06/09/2018 07:53

Stonewall are so bedazzled by their own Halo and belief that wokeness is in the DNA of the demographic that matter and will be on the right side of history that they really can't see how this looks. Nor that this might give people cause for concern about how well they are abiding by Nolan principles.

There seem to be lots of cats scheming how to abuse or misuse their litter tray in this, If Pets had AIBU thread

2BorNot2Bvocal · 06/09/2018 08:05

If only Janice had been given the opportunity to ask 'valued for what?'.

Anlaf · 06/09/2018 08:43

Go Janice!

VickyEadie · 06/09/2018 08:50

I don't know why JT thinks cats only want to crap at night. Give your cat the access to toileting facilities (via flap or litter tray) at all times and they'll use it when they need to.

AngryAttackKittens · 06/09/2018 08:52

That AIBU thread is gold.

It seems like Janice doesn't quite get cats. Has anyone tried to explain the reasons why cat's shitting habits may have changed, etc? I didn't think anyone still put their cat out at night...

TimeLady · 06/09/2018 08:52

It's about time the spotlight turned onto Stonewall. Well said, Janice.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/09/2018 08:59

The Times today also has another comment piece on DV, and a news article on proposal to raise marriage age to 18 to try to help prevent forced marriage of girls. I started another thread with shared links for those who are interested.

LangCleg · 06/09/2018 09:04

I agree some pressure needs to go in Stonewall's direction. That's a house of cards in waiting.

IfNotNowThenWhen1 · 06/09/2018 09:07

Why don't people put their cats out at night?
Had cats all my life-all have lived to be very old and very healthy and we never had a litter tray past kitten hood.
They all went out a hunting on a night! (Although my current bagpuss sticks to the sofa when it rains).

AngryAttackKittens · 06/09/2018 09:11

I never have because either too much traffic or too many predators. Plus cats that would whinge and sulk, and that like to sleep on my feet.

IfNotNowThenWhen1 · 06/09/2018 09:12

Would relent RE litter tray for an old poorly puss though, soz Janice!

IfNotNowThenWhen1 · 06/09/2018 09:13

What kind of predators? Really this is you not wanting to have to buy slippers isn't it angry?Grin

AngryAttackKittens · 06/09/2018 09:14

Well Janice is in London, what about foxes? I don't fancy the chances of an elderly, sick cat in a scuffle with a fox.

But yes, feline foot warmer is a useful thing, at least until they get annoyed at you for turning over.

Miladymilord · 06/09/2018 09:15

Good piece apart from the litter tray but which is nonsense.
