Probably not allowed but if I was his Responsible Officer having that little chat with him I would demand he take a random drug test.
My DH works in an area where his employers can and do do this and I see no reason why this shouldn't be standard practice in other employment settings, especially health care.

I have to assume that she's had at least one chat with AH about this if the GMC is genuinely involved (as per Twitter claims). Is AH genuinely failing to heed her guidance and hoping for martyrdom? Or does he think he can get her reproved for victimisation by proxy on behalf of the GMC?

I'm failing to understand AH's strategy. In some ways, I am concerned for him and trust that this attitudes/behaviours are not bleeding through into his professional activities at all.

Two questions

If he is a junior doctor how come he has time for all this constant tweeting ? I thought they were worked half to death with little time off, and most of that was spent trying to catch up on sleep.

Do the training programmes not weed out the few applicants with a Raging God Complex BEFORE they qualify and get let loose on patients ? Cos if he thinks this highly of himself now, think of the level of hubris he'll have acquired once he has dragged himself up the hierarchy a bit.

If he presented himself at a medical appointment of mine I'd be out the door before you could say "The patient evidently has nothing wrong with her legs".

He appeared to be tweeting whilst at work the other day, complaining that he was waiting for an interpreter. So I guess he squeezes it in between patients!

Maybe Adrian is actually a 5th columnist for Jeremy Hunt who's now gone rogue: he was supposed to be used as an example of how stupid and under worked junior doctors are. Jeremy with a 'c' would, at some point have used Adriana's addiction to social media (not to mention poppers), fundamental ignorance of biology and anatomy, and unpleasant unprofessional behaviour to exemplify a malaise at the heart of the NHS.

But Adrian has broken free of his handlers, although not before discovering that this not working but being an offensive misogynist lark is actually great fun. They'll be an MI5 file somewhere.

If AH's sock accounts can be substantiated then it's showing a very disturbing pattern and he ought to be challenged with his behaviour with them.
