Cross over from the Green Party terf blocker stuff.

Harrop and his merry band of TRAs are trying to convince Caroline Lucas that it's all the fault of evil terfs really.

So there's Harrop, known harrasser of gender critical women, Terf Blocker, known for lass blocking and reporting of GC women, and LisaQuestions who identified David Challenor's victim

I wonder if AH's 'responsible officer' has seen a copy of James Kirkup's Spectator piece that wonders if the AH account is a parody?

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 04/09/2018 10:37

I'll bet James' holiday was spent writing the biggest journal trying to record of all the stuff that was cracking off whilst he was away.

Still he made a grand return there!

arranfan · 04/09/2018 10:39

Kirkup's Twitter comments thread is warming up with commentary about that piece.

R0wantrees · 04/09/2018 10:43

James Kirkup on 'Dr Adrian Harrop' link to article above:
"But of course, in the looking-glass world of transgender politics, this is not OK to talk to people who might take a different view of the world to your own. It is bad, and must be punished.

Never mind that Lucas had been an outspoken advocate of trans rights in general, and of Aimee Challenor in particular. Never mind that all she said she would do is meet some people and listen to them. None of that could mitigate her sins against transgenderism. The online mob quickly gathered to ensure Lucas was suitably chastised: she said she’d talk to witches, so she must be a witch! Burn her!

(As is common here, lots of the abuse directed at Lucas came from men keen to tell women what to do, say and think. My favourite reprimand was this one: “Sincere word of warning Caroline: the people you’re agreeing to have dialogue w/ may appear to be reasonable & well-meaning individuals – couldn’t be more untrue. #WPUK and its associates spread hateful rhetoric, & seek to deny #trans people their existing legal rights. Avoid.” That came from a person using the name Adrian Harrop and claiming to be an NHS doctor; I assume it’s a parody account because the alternative explanation – that an actual real person is so comically stupid and awful – is too troubling to contemplate.)" HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 04/09/2018 10:48

That James Kirkup quote is one of the funniest things I’ve read this year.

WarmWishes · 04/09/2018 10:55

Actually, this is an interesting point. How do we know it isn't a parody account?

Juells · 04/09/2018 10:56

DO NOT TALK TO WOMEN. THEY'LL SKEW YOUR THINKING AND LEAD YOU ASTRAY INTO WRONGTHINK. THEY'RE EVIL.

R0wantrees · 04/09/2018 10:57

I wonder if Dr Harrop's 'responsible officer' will be asking him about this?

(as an aside, when I see this role referred to, I keep misreading it as 'responsible adult')

R0wantrees · 04/09/2018 10:59

Actually, this is an interesting point. How do we know it isn't a parody account?

Dr Harrop was on Sky News reviewing the newspapers earlier in the year and the Twitter account made mention of this and linked. Fellow Drs have also interacted including Helen Webberley etc

Laniakea · 04/09/2018 10:59

he's written for the pulse (GP (as in NHS not greens!) magazine

www.pulsetoday.co.uk/news/commissioning/commissioning-topics/urgent-care/i-was-told-not-to-speak-out-about-the-problems-in-ae/20036000.article

so I assume he's legit

hellandhairnets · 04/09/2018 10:59

Indeed. Our friend "Katie" getting in early with her usual schtick, I see. Nope, nothing to see here...

Freespeecher · 04/09/2018 11:28

Maybe the real reason behind the retirement of the King of Parody, Godfrey Elfwick, was that he started to read a few of Harrop's tweets and realised he just couldn't compete.

R0wantrees · 04/09/2018 11:30

He was also interviewed on television about the NHS winter crisis;

LizzieSiddal · 04/09/2018 12:00

He’s tweeting nonsense about WPUK, this morning. (Sorry I don’t know how to link properly.

”WPUK are not “stakeholders” in anything relating to the internal decision making processes that led to the appointment of DC to any position within the party.
WPUK are a transphobic hate group seeking to capitalise on this horrendous, evil crime for their own political gain.”

Isn’t he being “supervised”? How come he thinks he can get away with this lying??

R0wantrees · 04/09/2018 12:02

Interesting that Dr Harrop whilst objecting to WPUK who are not stakeholders has informed political parties that he is not a member of!

AbsintheFriends · 04/09/2018 12:09

My love for James Kirkup knows no bounds.

(Also love the bit in that twitter thread where someone asks whether committed Green Party member AC uses disposable nappies for sex play.)

BiologyIsReal · 04/09/2018 12:27

I've always thought you needed a certain level of IQ to be a doctor - all those books and bodies etc - but our dear Dr has disabused me of that.

All I can think of when I see his witterings is that some people should not be let out without a nanny.

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 04/09/2018 12:30

He is definitely after a media position.
He is in no way the type of person I want representing HCP in the media.

SPOFS · 04/09/2018 12:30

I hope WPUK sue him.

BiologyIsReal · 04/09/2018 12:33

He is definitely after a media position.

Yup - that would be dangerous. However, what is more dangerous is thinking he actually treats patients. Now that is truly terrifying.

BiologyIsReal · 04/09/2018 12:34

Just think about it. If you were a female patient of his - being treated by a doctor who doesn't know the difference between a man and a woman.

He could be trying to give you a prostate examination to check on your abdominal pain......

arranfan · 04/09/2018 12:36

I hope WPUK sue him.

WPUK probably has more to spend its money on Carter-Ruck (unlike former officers for the NUS). Tho' it would be gratifying for AH to have to back up his assertions with more than his opinion (or "reckon" in Mitchell and Webb terms) or make a donation to WPUK.

AbsintheFriends · 04/09/2018 12:39

I think he's overplayed his hand with regards the media. He obviously assessed the way things were going and wanted to carve out a niche for himself as the go-to Dr Woke.

I fear that now he will eventually find a place on the fringes of legality, exploiting vulnerable people for considerable financial gain.

arranfan · 04/09/2018 12:41

WPUK probably has more to spend its money on Carter-Ruck Missing the word "than" as in "than Carter Ruck".

Longs for edit function.
