Maybe one for AIBU threads but I fear that many women will just think I'm being mean in thinking that it's an outrage that one of the 25 statues to women that are to be erected by English Heritage is of a transgender woman. Currently under 3% of 925 statues are of woman. Was it really too much to ask that all 25 of these new ones were actually for actual woman. Strewth.

So a transwoman has been picked because the transwoman is supporting trans people. So what’s that got to do with actual women?

So the women on the list are recognised for their work with and for disadvantaged women and with and for the wider community in a range of significant arenas, selflessly, whereas Burns made computer bits and campaigned for their own trans rights trans people. I think Burns looks very out of place on this list.

Lets have 25 women and then other worthy people. Not less women represented in order accommodate trans people.

No YANBU!
The additional 24 women, going by the figures you quote, will bring us to about 5%. I guess in a few years, most of the new proposals will be taken by 'transwomen', instead of actual women. As per AWSLs and the like. Elizabethan Theatre.
